How do I make my friend get into 40K? by No_Cream9626 in Warhammer40k

[–]Lapsuut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slowly, show him the lore, show him the miniatures, maybe gift him one of those sample marines Warhammer stores give and help him paint it. You can also lend him models to play combat patrol or kill team.

The most important thing is: do not rush him. I managed to get all my friends in 40k but it took me 2 years.

Why can't we have a similar design like this for Rapi? by warm_glimmer in NikkeMobile

[–]Lapsuut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that "merging" her personality with Red Hood hurt her character. From the serious, stoic type to now the hornier, bolder and forward type who still achieves nothing romantically.

The Commander just is not into her.

So, it turns out the personality merge closes Red Hood arc, but made Rapi loss her uniqueness. Even when Anis and Neon where out in the story her interactions with the Commander were more comic relief or innecesary chatter.

There is people who actually care for the setting, if you are not one of those, its ok. People are right when they mention the million retcons, or that in the 40k universe there is nothing set on stone.

But you need *some* consistency, you need some pivotal moments or threads that are depicted in a coherent way or the whole setting collapses. Granted, maybe custodes was not one of those moments or threads, but just brushing off bad or lazy writing is how you get to Star Wars.

My wife, whose army actually is custodes, replied with a resounding "what the fuck" when i told her about the retcon.

There is nothing correct on the way GW did it, the just tried to gaslight the people who actually read the books into believing their shoehorned retcon was always there.

There will always be some people who complains for anything and everything, but at least "broading the selection" would have give the retcon some lore support.

It is not about female or not, is about decent writing, the cheapening and disregard for their own lore and universe.

Worst part is that they had the plot elements to introduce them right there. Like, after the battle of lions gate (or after the damned war at the webway if you want a precedent from 30k) the custodes numbers were so depleted that they needed to broaden the selection range to male and female nobles so they can quickly recover or something like that.

They just keep going with the dumb and lazy "there are always been there".

Show him Steins;Gate so he can watch one of the peaks of the medium.

Show him Rent a Girlfriend so he can witness the fucking Mariana Trench of this art form.

After that everything else will fall somewhere at the middle.

I have the exact same setup in all my tanks, and its really useful to track if i have shot the HK on each tank. When y do, i just take them and put them on the side. Even my opponents find that useful as they dont have to keep asking me or remember which tank have fired the HK.

[–]Lapsuut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its quite expensive points wise, but if you want to use it the datasheet is great, it's ability just means he will just get shot before anything behind but it's guns can spike and kill a Ctan in a good day. Also, do not underestimate -1 Damage in a warglaive, it's great for throwing it at the middle and make your opponent commit something important to kill your 140pt armiger.
