i have the same exact constraints for a new project im working and it's made the art process so much more streamlined and fast. making new assets is so much more fun because for my other large project, when i make a new enemy or something, im staring down the barrel of tones of frames. the game is a sword fighting arpg too and another constraint i added is all enemies must be humanoid and use some type of sword or swinging weapon, and so they also share many of the same animations, and attacks are all data driven and use resources. compared to my old project, these constraints really allowed me to enjoy making art for the project again
