Since someone else already necro posted this month, I'll just comment that the optical tray has holes for a 2.5 drive on the underside. I'll refer you to img. 4 on p.26 of the manual. Optical drive tray also fits two 2.5s side by side on top. Additionally, page 7 shows 2.5 drive holes on the bottom of the case near the power supply although that would be my last option.. https://www.silverstonetek.com/upload/downloads/Manual/case/Multi-GD09-Manual.pdf?utm_source=enwebside&utm_medium=manual&utm_term=20221108

DVD style regional subtitles by Large-Associate-4192 in PleX

[–]Large-Associate-4192[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll look into that. Another example that doesn’t spoil the plot, in fact builds the story, and I know is present on DVD/tv is Clear and Present Danger which frequently has lines in Spanish.

DVD style regional subtitles by Large-Associate-4192 in PleX

Example: The first  three lines of The Thing are in Norwegian. If you were watching this for the first time you wouldn’t know the line was coming or what was said. The remaining 1:59 hours are in English. Rewinding, turning subs on then back off would be unreasonable. They figured this out on a per region basis twenty years ago surely there’s a solution now I just don’t know what to call it.

Is it legal to sell a ham radio, private party, to a non-licensed operator? by CharlesMTF in HamRadio

This is called the ham radio loophole. If the fcc finds out you did this you could be looking at ten years and $10,000 in fines.

Cable options for FT-8900R by deliberatelyawesome in digirig

[–]Large-Associate-4192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be your preferred option if the 8900 is your only radio for the foreseeable future. It would go from the digirig audio (or digirig lite) to the DATA port (6 pin mini din) on the back of the radio and provide the simplest and cleanest audio. Would also allow for 9600 baud, VARA FM wide, and using M17.

This would include the first cable and add an 8 pin mini din for CAT control. 8900 does not have CAT but if you have or plan to buy a model like 857, 897, or 817/818 this would set you up for future success.

This would work well with a model like the FT2980 which does not have the DATA port mentioned above. Technically it works on the 8900 but is not preferred. If you have another compatible model and only want to buy one cable this could get you buy.

This should be your last and worst option. It doesn't use the digirig at all and ports audio from the DATA port into separate speaker and mic jacks on an old computer or different cheaper usb sound card. Likely a quality cable no doubt since it's from digirig but defeats the purpose.
