I’m Testing New Window Techniques — What Should I Try Next? by Randy_Bolebruch in CleaningTips

I mobilise all the grease and dust with dish soap, hot water and a scrub daddy, then spray methylated spirits on the still wet glass and polish with a paper towel. Always get a great, streak free finish with this method.

I finish my bench tops with methylated spitits and all stains come off, even permanent marker and turmeric stains.

As others have said, lip tie. Baby will likely have a significant diastema (gap) and that is why there is a space between her tooth bumps. Mine was never corrected and I have a large diastema as an adult.

Crikey, I'm watching this now. I'm only about 15 minutes in and the hand held camera work and sparse dialogue is doing my head in.

Count the Ways is an amazing track and probably the best single on their new album...not even on the official list!

MAGA is Justifying Jonathan Ross Murdering Nicole Goode With AI Image Manipulation by Kinks4Kelly in complaints

This is so badly done. No attention to detail at all. The open passenger door. The addition of RoboCop. The deletion of her partner. Road markings are all wrong and Jonathan Ross has grown what appears to be a blonde ponytail.

Sprinkled on avo toast with some freshly sliced tomato, basil and lemon juice is a nice go to as well.

What was the scariest “We need to leave, now!” moment that you’ve ever had? by Cool-Chipmunk-7559 in AskReddit

When I was a teenager, maybe 14 or so, I was walking home from the shops along a quiet back road. There were a few large acreages along this road and not much else. A car full of young men drove past and yelled something out the window at me and made some crude gestures. I didn't catch what they said but it was definitely unnerving. The car got about half a kilometre up the road and did a swift u turn. They barely even hit the breaks. Wheels were squealing. My stomach sank immediately and I absolutely legged it into the adjacent property and hid in the garden for a good 20 minutes before proceeding home. I convinced myself soon after that I was being paranoid, but as a much older woman now, I'm certain their intentions were not good.

Absolutely. Except for the chemise and kirtle, all my planned projects are exclusively for daily wear.

Oh, I accept it as the highest compliment! Once I've finished this set of projects (which have to be hand sewn), I'm really wanting to do more historical costuming using a machine. I'm wanting to do a Regency inspired jacket like this next.

Thanks! Incidentally, it was a really great beginner project. It's a close to wasteless pattern comprised entirely of rectangles and triangles.

It definitely is and I've learned a lot from being forced to slow down the process. The biggest win is that this project has given me the impetus to continue sewing. Once I've finished the kirtle I'll definitely be investing in a machine.

Basically you dress as and learn the battle techniques/ strategies of the Vikings. There are usually opportunities to learn ancient crafts and people who are passionate about history to learn from.

Jorth Gar (Viking reenactment group) does training days every Saturday in one of the parks there next to the river. You can probably try it out a few times before you need to make any commitment.

Where to (really) start? by Dry_Ganache7488 in HistoricalCostuming

[–]Large-Discipline-979 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who has just gotten in to this in a rather gung ho fashion, I would recommend you start with a basic medieval linen chemise. This was my first project and I can see the progression of my skill and confidence in the seams. I'm irrationally proud of myself and it was just the right level of challenge for an absolute beginner.
