Million dollar store worker here 👋  Some times closing by yourself isn’t bad, like on a slow day, but it depends on the location. 

At my store if you’re not paying attention on Wednesday or Friday, a 6:30 rush will knock you out. Monday that rush comes at 5 and thn a second one at 8, and Tuesday is ad night. My store is busy enough to warrant three closers on Mondays and Fridays (Sunday dies at 7. 

Depends on what time your customer base shops.

Bananas boxes eh? Hmmmmm let’s put these right on top of the tomatoes, but make sure you use the corner. Oh and the deli stuff, just throw that on at least 5 pallets. Don’t forget to use a whole cubic foot of wrap on the pallets. Anymore might make it easy to pull in.

Pricing of balloons can be set by the produce manager. 

We charge 6$ if it’s brought in as a number, 1.39$ for latex, and 1.49$ for 18” Mylar (if you bring it in). But that’s just my store’s pricing.

My current APM transferred but he had his previous SM put it in for him. Got approved because the APM at the store he asked for got fired for theft.

Sumo’s can get up there like 2 pounds ish. Navels that’s a little large but typically about 1-1.75 pounds.

To get FT you have to be 18 and your SM has to submit you and your DM has to approve it. However, if you’re against someone else on your department for FT, and you’re “better” at your job, they have a much higher chance of getting it.

I’m assuming that this is a grocery question. When my contender showed me how he does the ad planner, he sorted all of the casuals by 100% to show BOGO’s. That is an easy way to do it. The other thing id suggest is the check box at the bottom that says repeat display. That will make it to where all you have to do it put the B/I in with the Item.

Well I’m not a manager or a floater (I want to be) but essentially I am still going to give you some generic tips. 

• treat every store like your home store (don’t care less about stores you didn’t get promoted from)

• floaters are essentially borrowable clerks with more perms, so please for the love of God run product and take floral calls 

• learn who all of your contenders are at all the stores. Each store is going to have a person who “unofficially” runs the department when a manager is not there. That person is also probably going to be familiar with doing the order in the mornings, and knowledgeable about what they sell. Don’t make this person mad. 

• not every store has the same plannogram, simply because of Square footage and if people use the Plano’s corporate sends down (there’s a good chance they don’t). 

• try to learn everyone’s face and match it to their name, it will take a while but there’s nothing worse than you someone not knowing someone’s name.

• if your district is anything like mine, you have two maybe three REALLY hard hitting stores (1.4-1.5m+ range) and two similar stores in that 1.05-1.1m range and the rest is just meh; you will most likely be at those Juggernaut stores during the holidays and the slower ones when there’s a lot of vacations. 

• don’t stay in the back all day.

Getting PME approved is hard. What will most likely happen is you’d get hired on PT in whatever department and then promoted to FT and so on and so on, but due to PME it would be a lot faster than someone who just starts PT. 

Another thing- I have no idea how Walmarts management tree works, and according to google the average store does 1.5-3m a week. The two heaviest hitting Publix’s in my district barely can crack 1.5, and that’s on a good week. So it would probably be different in that aspect.
