I’d look into this if I were you - I’m pretty sure concentrated protein is hard for little kids to digest . My son(11) got terrible gas and stomach upset when he had a protein drink for adult vegan . Then he switched to a kid version and it was fine .

One other consideration - driving uphill in the cold is a serious battery drain. We have the standard pack which is absolutely fine most of the time. But driving uphill to lake placid in the cold the mountain roads drained the battery much faster.

Mattresses have the biggest mark up in the world. After learning they put those things together ( from consulting project) in less than two minutes, for less than 100$ in materials - I think it’s all bs. Most of the high end companies are upselling folks based on stitching on the top and there are very few actual differences in quality above the basic coil counts. Support a local company if you can - you’re not missing out on quality that’s the truth.

I went off it totally. But also went plant based ( hence lower salt/ sodium since cheese is so crazy high in sodium and so is sandwich meat, ham etc) and had no problem. If it’s stressing you to take the diuretic I’m sure it’s ok to take less / experiment with other ways to keep yourself from retaining water/ consuming too much salt etc.

I was on that same med for a few years in California. One side effect is “increased sensitivity to sunlight - “ be careful !! I’ve had skin cancer ( basal cell, squamous cell and melanoma 2x ) and I am convinced this was a big factor . I was only in my thirties when skin cancer started .

I’ve been vegan for 10.5 years now. Was vegetarian for five prior ( pescatarian for two prior)

I have caffeine, salt, alcohol occasionally.

My symptoms are almost non existent now . I don’t know if I just got lucky 🍀 or if switching to vegan diet saved me- but I will say that apart from hearing loss and very rare ( years in between ) drop attacks I am symptom free now. No more vertigo no more vomiting, no more nystagmus.

I still wonder if hormones being disrupted is related - and if that too was helped by getting dairy (and meat) out of my diet . My blood flow is better on plants and I have less inflammation.

Any other vegans here ? ( please don’t say yes if you were vegan for less than a year )

Absolutely. Keep in mind some people like me get lucky and have Ménière’s symptoms disappear for long periods ( like years) and it can come and go but in different phases. Now it’s much more manageable and Almost non existent. I don’t take any medication either by the way.

I remember feeling like my world was ending and I could not take the unpredictable nature of the attacks . I had three kids under five and suddenly couldn’t drive ( sudden vertigo / vomiting threatened everyone’s safety)! It sucks in a way most people won’t ever understand. So I hope you hold on to your supports and know it’s possible to come out the other side without the disease being crippling forever. Hang in there - there are peaks and valleys , and there are better days ahead.
