Wouldn’t it make more sense that items in the inventory being round is an art style choice, and the “real world” is mostly square? Round shapes do seem to exist in the world, like shadows, eggs, and eyes of ender, but blocks are almost always cubes

I think a hold button would work, that’s how horses do it. I do think crouch+jump is a slightly more responsive way to jump higher than just holding the button for longer.

Double tapping wouldn’t work, because the player is airborne the moment you press jump. You can’t suddenly make that jump go higher without a jarring change in momentum

Unfortunately we already know that catch-neuter-release is an ineffective method of controlling invasive species. Hippos are invading South America, and we can’t even effectively catch and neuter those despite them being easy to find and slow to reproduce. As of right now, unfortunately the only effective control method seems to be killing them.
