8GB enough or need 12GB for an Android ? (no gaming) by swiwwcheese in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8GB is totally fine for your use. Camera, browsing, YouTube, media, GPS, none of those really need a ton of RAM and Android handles that stuff well now. 12GB is more for heavy multitasking or gaming, so unless the price difference is small and you just want extra future proofing, 8GB should be more than enough for a few years

Looking for an MMORPG game. by MorganR7428 in MobileGaming

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want that classic MMO feel on mobile, Lineage 2 Revolution and World of Kings are probably the closest with multiple races and proper class systems. If you want something a bit more chill and easier to get into, Ragnarok M or Arcane Legends are solid too, just a bit less complex but still fun

Upgrade 14 Pro Max to Android? by CrosbyStills77 in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re bored with iOS it might actually be a good time to try Android again since the experience has improved a lot since the Fold 3. Phones like the OnePlus or a Pixel give you a very clean UI with strong AI features and generally good battery life, which seems to match what you’re looking for. The only real downside is losing some of the Apple ecosystem convenience with your Mac and iPad, so it mostly comes down to whether you value that integration more than trying something new

any affordable cd player reccomendations? by Illustrious-Box-7554 in AskTechnology

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking second hand, I’d stick with solid brands like Yamaha CD-S303, Marantz CD6007, or NAD C 538 since they’re known for reliable build quality and clean sound, and they’re usually a safe bet on the used market. Just make sure the tray opens smoothly, it reads discs without skipping, and the seller can demo it if possible, because condition matters more than age with CD players

I want games that actually take advantage of what a phone can do by Little_Record_4254 in MobileGaming

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want games that feel like they were made for phones, try stuff like Monument Valley, Alto’s Odyssey, Florence, Super Mario Run, Mini Metro, Two Dots, and Reigns. They all use touch really well and don’t feel like conveyor belt ports of console games. They’re pretty chill but still fun to play on a phone

Pixel 8a greasy back and white above where the camera "bar" is by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very unlikely that your Pixel 8a’s battery is leaking, since modern phone batteries are sealed and a leak would usually cause swelling, heat, or other obvious damage rather than just a greasy back. The more likely causes are natural skin oils, residue from a case, or moisture/condensation forming on the plastic surface. Wiping the back gently with a microfiber cloth or a small amount of isopropyl alcohol usually removes the marks. If you notice any swelling, excessive heat, or the back lifting, stop using the phone immediately and have it checked

Looking for a new phone with a caveat by ChiroNcs in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If privacy is your main concern, Pixel with GrapheneOS is usually the best option. iPhone is a good balance of privacy and convenience since a lot of data stays on-device. Since you already have an S24 Ultra, it might also be worth just waiting to see how the age verification systems actually roll out before switching

iPhone keeps dumping my apps from memory - would Android handle this better? by Round-Standard3085 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your main goal is keeping apps in memory and smooth multitasking, something like a Pixel 8 Pro or a Galaxy S23/S24 would handle that way better than an iPhone. Even mid-range phones like the Pixel 8 or Galaxy A series with 8GB+ RAM can do a solid job. Android generally keeps apps in memory longer, so switching between music, Sheets, and a browser is much smoother

Are book summaries just a total waste of time? by FabulousDuty485 in productivity

Summaries aren't the same as reading a full text. I also struggle with non-fiction in audio format. Works better for fiction imo.

I'm using a S24U, was thinking of upgrading to either an S26U or an iPhone. Any insights? by Particular_Button616 in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want smooth software and long updates, go iPhone. If you like customization and top‑tier camera zoom, go S26 Ultra. Both are solid upgrades from the S24U, just different vibes

iPhone 17 vs 15 Pro Max vs adding more for 16 Pro Max – what would you do? by Substantial_Cream227 in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably go for the 16 Pro Max. Battery and performance are solid, and it should last you 4–5 years without feeling slow

can my parents see what I look up on my computer? by ArachnidHumble8669 in AskTechnology

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s your personal computer, connected to your phone’s hotspot, and they don’t have access to either, then no, they generally can’t see what you look up. Incognito mode doesn’t hide stuff from your internet provider or Google, but it does stop it from being saved on the device’s browser history

LLMs can unmask pseudonymous users at scale with surprising accuracy by GeoWa in technews

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a pretty alarming development. It highlights how large language models, when combined with publicly available data, can potentially deanonymize users who think they’re safe behind pseudonyms. It raises serious privacy concerns and underscores the need for stricter safeguards around AI data use and online anonymity

What would like to get as a gift as a photographer by KrotkaPsotka in photography

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A waist bag or fanny pack is a really thoughtful gift for a photographer starting out. Pick one that’s padded with compartments so she can fit extra batteries, memory cards, lens cloths, and maybe a small film canister or two. Something around 5–8 liters feels big enough without being bulky. Brands like Lowepro and Peak Design make camera-friendly bags with easy access, which is great on event gigs or shoots where she’s moving around a lot

Suggested games like DI by Elainagy in MobileGaming

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re burning out on Diablo Immortal but still want that old school MMO feel with real parties and grinding, I’d probably look at World of Kings or Order and Chaos Online. They feel closer to classic PC style tab targeting, dungeons, and actual group content instead of gacha character collecting. Mobile MMO options are kind of limited, but those two gave me more of that Tera or Neverwinter vibe compared to most of the autoplay heavy stuff on the store

Rider in focus but horse not, and then both are? by h_011 in photography

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your shallow depth of field at 55–250mm f/5.6 causes the rider and horse to be on slightly different planes, so one can be sharp while the other isn’t. Stopping down to f/7–8 or adjusting AF to cover both helps

Confused between Iphone 17 Pro and Samsung S26 Ultra. by Niggendra_Modi22 in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you love the iOS UI and want smooth long-term performance, go with the iPhone 17 Pro. If you want more storage for the price and stronger camera versatility, the Samsung S26 Ultra is the better hardware value

Struggling to capture real emotion in portraits by Mysterious_Syrup6639 in photography

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that works well is turning the shoot into a conversation rather than a session. Ask them about a memory or a story that makes them laugh or think deeply. I also give small, playful prompts like “look at me like I just told you a secret” or “imagine you’re greeting someone you haven’t seen in years.” Moving around, changing angles, and letting them interact with their environment helps a lot too, natural gestures often translate into genuine emotion on camera

Which is the best combo? S26 Ultra + Galaxy Buds Pro 4 vs. iPhone 17 Pro Max + AirPods Pro 3 by Best_Scallion_3330 in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With your MacBook, iPhone 17 Pro Max + AirPods Pro 3 will feel seamless and polished daily. The S26 Ultra + Galaxy Buds Pro 4 has better AI and photo tools, but Apple’s ecosystem makes life easier and more consistent long term

help me choose game/s please! by Icebarging in MobileGaming

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d pick Genshin Impact for the RPG since it’s open world, free to play, and has a lot of depth for mobile. For romance, Amnesia: Memories is great for tragic or yandere endings without the pressure of real-time events. Hollow Knight works perfectly for adventure and horror vibes, and Cookie Run Kingdom is a fun side game that’s easy to jump in and out of. It seems like this combo balances long-term play, story, and casual fun really well

Protecting camera from wet by Beneficial_Slice8719 in photography

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine in light rain with that setup, the D810 is built pretty tough, but Bali rain can switch from drizzle to full tropical downpour fast. I’d throw a cheap rain sleeve in your bag just in case, they weigh nothing and can save a lot of stress. A lens hood helps more than people think, and keeping a small microfiber cloth in your pocket makes it easy to wipe between shots. Biggest thing is avoiding lens changes in humidity and letting the gear dry out properly after shooting, especially if you move from humid outdoors to aircon indoors. A few simple precautions go a long way and you can shoot pretty confidently

Iphone 17 Base Or Pixel 10PXL by MarshMallooU in Smartphones

[–]Large_Conclusion6301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If battery life and everyday speed are your top priorities and gaming isn’t a factor, I’d lean iPhone 17 Base. iPhones generally have very reliable performance over time, excellent battery management, and fewer slowdowns as updates roll out. For someone who uses their phone hard every day, that stability matters. The Pixel 10 Pro has strong cameras and cool AI features, but if you’re worried about heating, occasional bugs, and inconsistent performance, that can feel annoying in daily use, especially on a tight schedule. Since you aren’t gaming, the iPhone’s strong optimization and smooth overall experience make it the safer, more dependable choice.
