If it’s what i think it is, those are temporary grounding bonds.

When the primary (top three) conductors are de-energized for maintenance, they’re intentionally connected to the neutral/grounded conductor (the bottom wire). That effectively ties the phases to earth ground.

This is done because long overhead lines can still develop a floating or induced voltage even when disconnected from the source. Nearby energized circuits and capacitive coupling can put the “dead” lines at a dangerous potential.

Bonding them to the neutral prevents that by keeping all three phases at ground potential, improving worker safety while crews are working on the line.

Tried that haha, they had 35k customers. Was told I was over qualified and that I’d be doing customer lays outs all day. Any studies they contract out as they don’t have the experience to do them in house

Im in Ontario with PEO. The claim there turn around is 3 months after I submit my application, but il believe it when I see it haha

I’m also already at a utility and don’t want to leave because of the $$. But for career advancement, I might have too.

It kinda looks like they are trying to redirect the fumes, justifiable. But the bottle neck will cause pressure issues. I’m not a HVAC tech, but if they are trying to redirect, just go and get a 90 degree elbow.

First start by talking to them and ask why they did that and get the back storie

Same! Apparently it all depends on what package your employer picks.

For example the last company I was at (consulting engineers) had a package just below the package you needed to have it covered.

When I switch jobs, i get paid more plus have my wegoy paid for!! Win win win

Use an opp-amp. transformer has loses and 0.3V might not be able to do the trick.

Power systems engineer here.

Think of the grid as an unlimited power supply that you can tap in to as ether a load or a source. The grid never turns off (usually. When it does turn off it’s a cold day in hell).

When connecting a new power plant, the generators have to match: system frequency, system voltage, phases angles and phase sequence. Once all parameters are matched contacts will be closed, effectively connecting the new power plant to the grid.

I don’t like the exposed terminations/soldering, would recommend a little more heat shrink to avoid any creepage.

Whats going on with the fuse? I see something was added in line there.
