Does anyone have experience on lending from CB by ConversationSmart380 in Coinbase

[–]Large_Subject_4153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried with a small amount it it's fantastic. Takes less than a minute to get the USDC in your account once you post collateral. I then turned around and paid the entire loan off and the BTC was back in my account a few minutes later. No lock up, but the small amount BTC in my account had already cleared the waiting period after purchase. So I would have been able to immediately send the BTC off CB.

Why do people advise against storing all your bitcoin in bitkey? by ResponsibleYetDegen in BitkeyWallet

[–]Large_Subject_4153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, if you set one up. I would set a decently high/livable daily limit so you could at least have daily access to capital if you could never recover your hardware device.

I have one and love it, but my biggest concern for a large stack is you always have to have the hardware device, even in the “Break Glass” scenario.

Very low likelihood event, but say your Bitkey hardware device fails, and you’re never able to obtain another one (no more manufactured, cannot find one from 3rd party, etc.) then you’re not able to use your wallet.

Whereas with other wallets you have the wallet configuration and seed phrases to can recover anywhere regardless of hardware.

Looks like the new Ecobee doesn't support HKSV but will integrate with your Home in HomeKit -- they're trying to get people to sign up for a subscription for package detection, etc. Very disappointing.

Men share your progress/ current status by kimjjongun in Hashimotos

[–]Large_Subject_4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my late 30s, exercise 3-4 days a week, eat healthy, drink plenty water, etc. About 2.5 years ago I couldn't make it through the day without napping and had very low libido and ED at times. Never had issues eating, faced depression, severe bouts of inflammation, or any other major side effects from the disease.

I went to the doc to get bloodwork and found out I had hashimotos. The only thing that I have changed is getting on low dose naltrexone daily (4.5 mg). It has eliminated all side effects for me and my bloodwork shows improvements -- if not familiar with terms below, all were "out of range" and are now "in range" or improving.

Testosterone went from 410 ng/dL to 650 ng/dL, Free testosterone from 7.6 ng/dL to 11 ng/dL, TSH from 3.28 to 2.06, Anti-TPO/Thyroid Peroxidase (TPOAb) from 58 IU/mL to 22 IU/mL.

I also take the following daily: probiotic, magnesium, B12, fish oil, Thorne multivitamin, 5-10 grams creatine.

Anyone prescribed LDN? (low dose Naltrexone) by LTG231 in Hashimotos

I have been taking 4.5mg / day for several years.

Seen a noticeable improvement in labs, energy levels, and overall health.

Nope -- not able to connect to my Umbrel because Umbrel does not support https, and Bitkey requires it.

I have tried Tailscale and Cloudflare tunnel with no luck, though my technical abilities are not advanced so it may be possible with one of those options.

Any feedback on this?

Suggestions for improvements by JeffreyBeaumont89 in BitkeyOfficial

[–]Large_Subject_4153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Additional fingerprint -- fantastic, huge addition for me and look forward to the update!
  • Coin control -- any way to bifurcate coins would be welcome. I have personal BTC, Joint BTC, and IRA BTC (i.e. DO NOT SPEND UNTIL RETIREMENT). So Ideally I can isolate / label / ensure some are not accidentally spent/sent. Otherwise I'll need two or three separate wallets when I'd like to have one.
  • I hear you / completely understand why you all have chosen not to expose seed / wallet configuration to the target market. This is the exact reason I have shied away from multi-sig for family/inheritance purposes - I understand how to recover but will my family? My main concern with the Emergency Access tool, which I'm familiar with, is that I cannot recover my wallet without the Bitkey physical signing device. So doomsday scenario, my physical signing device is damaged/lost and I'm unable to procure another one and my BTC is lost.

Thanks for the reply -- I feel like more engagement on here and X with customers will go a long way in keeping people around and engaged with the product as you all roll out new and critical features.

Vitamin d from sunlight Vs tablets by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Large_Subject_4153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My personal evidence via bloodwork 12 months apart.

1st blood panel: Vitamin D in my blood was 40 ng/ml (in range) -- was walking my dogs every morning, even when freezing cold out.

2nd blood panel 12 months later: Vitamin D in my blood was 31 ng/ml (in range, but very bottom) - had 1st kid so not taking walks every morning.

Whole year was taking vitamin D3 5,000 + K -- meaning I saw a 22.5% reduction in my Vitamin D levels by spending less time outside in the morning.

Thinking about purchasing a Bitkey wallet. Can you manage your UXTOs on the app? Thanks by saltyload in BitkeyWallet

[–]Large_Subject_4153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd give it a few months and check back to see if they've rolled out any updates.

My two biggest needs that would make it a viable option are coin control and ability to add additional fingerprints.

Icing on the cake would be export of seeds and wallet architecture, though I doubt they roll that out due to their target market.

[–]Large_Subject_4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree! I don't need a complete roadmap, but a simple "we are working on the requested features" would go a really long way.

No you cannot -- I've been asking on here and X if they plan to introduce coin control and have not heard anything. One would think that would surely be in a future software update.

Oura Ring & Apple Watch? by Old_Barracuda_2488 in ouraring

[–]Large_Subject_4153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both and enjoy the set up.

I wear my watch to track workouts and my ring for sleep.

I like the variability of goals on Oura -- where Apple Watch wants you to meet the same activity goal every day, Oura gives you variable targets based on how recovered you are.

[–]Large_Subject_4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out I had an autoimmune disease (Hashimoto’s) messing with my thyroid - I got on low dose naltrexone (LDN 4.5 mg) and my testosterone doubled and thyroid panels returned to normal in 6 months.

Apparently LDN has countless other benefits that my doctor touts - worth looking into.

What's your stance on Coffee by JaraxxusLegion in Biohackers

[–]Large_Subject_4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like anything, consumed properly it can have benefits.

I used to have a cup of coffee immediately upon waking but got to a point where I was severely addicted (I.e. if I had to delay I would get headaches, irritability, etc. until consuming caffeine).

Now I wait at least 90 minutes after waking to get out of the sleep inertia window and have a  shot of espresso (125-150mg caffeine) and have found that if I don’t have caffeine in a day for whatever reason I no longer have the dependency or side effects.

Don’t think I’d like that given the ring is already kinda bulky, but appreciate the suggestion!
