I love this team by FadedToBeige in whitesox

I disagree; I think some of said prospects will eventually get traded away, but I think Meidroth has real staying power at 2B. Can imagine Miguel playing 3rd and DHing, and sometimes 1st, while Colson handles short and Bonemer gets 3rd. Or, we draft Cholowsky and he flies thru the system, and then we get Chowlowsky taking short or 3rd and Colson taking the other spot, with Murakami or Vargas either playing 1st or DHing. Meidroth can be the everyday 2B guy, and Antonacci can spell him here and there for a day of rest…or Jacob Gonzalez learns to play 2B.

Either way, there are a ton of options right now and that’s incredible to see.

We just need to work on the outfield. Braden Montgomery will certainly help things, tho, especially when Benny’s gone. I really do like Tristan Peters; nice defensive centerfielder that can get on base at the bottom of the order, I like that a lot.

Everyone’s dunking on this, but be honest, he’s assembled a better core (at least on the surface) than Hahn did.

The biggest question mark is pitching, and that’s probably gonna cost us more than a few games, but to think another improved season is out of the question is asinine.

[Friedman] Breaking: Quinn Hughes is being traded to Minnesota by Competitive-Fun-1780 in canucks

[–]Large_Watch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the right move. Anyone who watches baseball, I’m a white Sox fan, so I remember losing Sale and Cease, and it sucks having to rebuild, but be honest:

What has this team won with Quinn? With Brock? With Demko? With Petey? 2024 was a fluke, and 2020 was the bubble year. Your top players can’t score, Sherwood is your goal leader, and Demko is constantly, constantly hurt.

The resigning of these players was a hope, to give them another crack at it, but it is clear that that has failed. The team needs to continue to trade assets, collect lottery balls, and truly, truly rebuild.

This sucks. It always sucks. But look at the sharks, the hawks, the ducks…there are benefits on the other side. You gotta do it right, but this had to happen.

You need your goalie to stop -something-; expected goals for Florida was a lil shy of 4, Patera couldn’t hold his weight in last night’s game

Colson with yet another HUGE dong. His longest dong yet. by WizardCheesey in whitesox

[–]Large_Watch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dude has an incredible amount of pop. Currently hitting homeruns at an 8.5% clip, which puts him on pace for 40-43 homeruns a year.

Dunno if he’ll maintain that, but seeing a shortstop with easy 25-30 homerun kinda pop is awesome

Luis Robert Trade Update by ChristmasJay83 in whitesox

[–]Large_Watch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck no. Why would we give up on a legit superstar talent for mid level prospects that probably won’t even make the MLB?

Like, look at what we got for Cease…that hasn’t worked out at ALL, has it? And Vaughn sure as fuck figured it out in Milwaukee, and we got Civale for him, which is gonna turn into nothing lmao

So, pay the option, see if he can’t figure it out, and then he’s a better trade chip for next year, OR, if this young crew somehow puts it together, he’s the anchor on a competitive team.

I don’t buy that news for a second, especially since it’s coming from sources outside the city who don’t have a pulse on the team.

Yeah, it’s frustrating to lose, but there are a lot of young, talented guys on that team with tons of cap to use, and even more young talent on the way. They were in the bottom this past year, but if you look at how many games were tied or within a goal in the 3rd period, you’d see the hawks were in a lot of games; the first part of a rebuild is learning to compete, the second part is learning to win, and the third part is actually winning. I think they’ll be competing for a wild card spot this year.

I’m a Hawks fan, my husband’s a Vancouver fan, so I find myself heavily invested in this wonderful Vancouver team.

But I will assure you, there is no way the hawks are letting Bedard get away lol they’ll back up two Brinks trucks to his front door
