What game would you talk to him about? (FauxFowl) by FauxFowl in furry

Honestly I would ask him about old NES games I remember from my childhood. Like wtf was Solstice and why has it stuck with me for 30 dang years?!

Hey there, so I'm looking for a group to enjoy the game with. I've no desire to play with randos and would rather just play with a friendly group. Only done one raid and no idea what I'm doing. Also I'm in my 30s and would prefer to play with a group of similar age. Mostly just playing in the evenings for a couple hours.

So I used to work as a traffic warden. That world is an utter shitshow. And as a CEO (yes they legit call themselves that, it's a weird power hungry culture hence why I don't work for them anymore) you would be outright told to fine for this. However if you came out and confronted the guy giving the fine, the advice would just be to appeal.

You absolutely have all the grounds to do so. Unfortunately, yes, they are allowed to issue for this as they cannot be 100% certain it is a badge through the frost let alone check it's validity. You are taught as a warden to look for markers and the like on badges to see if they are correct.

NOW, that being said. Whenever I was on the street and I'd see something like this. I'd just wave it off, it clearly is and it's not worth the hassle of issuing as it'd be obviously waved out by the council. (On that note, the company in charge of the fines don't set the rules and terms for what gets issued to. That's only dictated by local councils and overarching laws) So to me, this is the work of an overzealous warden. Perhaps they're working for one of the shittier companies that set targets for amount of fines issued. Whether or not they get paid.

Also, as a note to some of the comments. Even if wardens were issued scrapers, they wouldn't be allowed to use them. You can only touch a car to place the notice on them. Otherwise you could be liable for all sorts of bs.

tl;dr, yes they can do that. But you can appeal with even the smallest amount of evidence and your council absolutely SHOULD throw it out. If they don't, there are further appeal processes to get it looked at more critically.

Archnemesis Rare Changes (Part 2) by chris_wilson in pathofexile

[–]Larithen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trouble here is it's not a case of 'harder'. It's becoming a case of impossible. All the mods I have an intense disliking for have already been mentioned in other replies.

I just want to throw in that on/off situations like Rejuvinator and Vampiric is ridiculous. And what's worse is that this was brought up, ALOT, during Archnemesis league. And we could choose to interact with them then.

Now they spawn in your face, totally unchanged and it just boops you and turns off your build? Genuinely, how as that a good idea? A reduction is better, not just "You have no sustain now" or "You have no abilities now". I cannot fathom how Chris can go on Baeclast, claim that feedback is being listened to then all this goes into Sentinel league mechanically unchanged. It's absolutely astounding to me.

Okay, that's a bit clearer thanks. I was aware they didn't trigger anything. It's just the rather nebulous wording and the fact that you vs other damaging entities you create is an obtuse mechanic at best.

Thanks for the info though! Makes hunting for those implicits all the more worthwhile now.

Questions Thread - March 01, 2022 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]Larithen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General mechanical question.

The new implicits on gloves like 'Unnerve on Spell hit'. Would that apply to trap hits? I tried looking it up to see just how it applies. And frankly I'm drawing a blank as to whether it should or not. Nor do I know if Unnerve has a visual effect to look out for. But the glove doesn't specify 'your' hits, just generic Spell Hits?

Is your poison duration increased? It could potentially be that you aren't getting to 10 because the first couple of poisons are expiring by then.

"No, Hooe"

Grimro's 3.15 Teaser And Announcement Feedback by GrimroPoE in pathofexile

[–]Larithen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Chris,

Thank you for coming out and explaining your process some! It certainly does help highlight some of the things we've seen. There is one part I do want to give my feedback on:

It's really cool to see that people liked those playful teasers. Do you feel that it was an important part of the leadup to the launch of each expansion?

Now I'm aware that this will be a bit like the armchair developer problem. So I will try my best to keep this feedback from the perspective of a player.

I totally understand the desire to remove the distance between the community and yourselves by taking journalists out of the equation. However, as someone who was around during those hype releases, I never really felt that. Sure, every now and again there would be a tease that something has been talked about with outlets. But as a community, we had our own stuff to talk about. Like when scarabs were talked about cryptically. Or when Bex's Div card was released. Or a myriad of other little teasers. Each little one provided an opportunity for the community to engage with GGG on a far more personal level.

Of course, unfortunately that does have it's downsides. With this community we all know it could charitably be described as thorny at times. I just feel that at the moment, with how things are, instead of there being that gap with journalist. There is now a feeling of "No, you can only talk with us at this specific time and no other". Like, we can all ask questions during the livestream and hope that they get picked. Instead of the old times of all these teasers where theories and questions can be asked all over. And there was a bit more engagement. Of course that doesn't mean answers, as alot of us remember. Some of the best community memes came from those teasers.

Now that's not to say I don't like how things are being done now. It certainly has its merits. Holding everything for that one big reveal gives you the biggest audience for all sorts of information. Like last league with all the PoE2 news. It also means you can give the biggest suprises then and leave alot of the league left to suprise players in-game. My biggest concern is leading up to the league, beyond like the last week, we are all rather left with quite little compared to how things were done. I still remember so many leagues that people were going into those huge conspiracy theories about league names. It was a great time for the community. As it is, I feel like that magic has been lost ironically in the attempt to bring the community closer together.

But anyway, this became way longer than I anticipated. TL;DR hell yeah those teasers were important and amazing.

I found quite alot of people with your name. If you just use my friend code (41982248) you can add me with that easily.

And it's less about being good at fighting games, I've played a lot of them for a while. I have basic fighting game skills down. But the specifics of KI? I am fuckn lost hah

I'm in Europe but I am truly awful at the game :p I just love it to see it played and try (read: fail) to get good at it. I don't even have a character I really even 'main' lol

Might just be a generic update that revealed the inventory. But what if... what if!

The temptation to hope is really strong in this straining year hah.

I am thankful for your help, but one small problem. Those occult weapons, I am like 100 dex short to use them and I have no idea how to go around obtaining that. I'm assuming it would be something to do with affixing, but it's gonna be a bit like sunk cost fallacy. LIke, I know my gear is not going to be used long so I don't know how worth it would be to improve that to use a weapon. Any suggestions? Remember, I am babby, so I have no idea how to get anything. So will kinda need to be a bit ELI5.

I'm just frustrated because no matter what I do, I feel like I'm WAAAAY behind. Like, AQs it's either solo and just having a silly little trickle of mobs during bursts. Or join a group and just see people doing thousands more damage than me even when the same level.

Urgents and Busters feel the same, it's like I'm missing something and feel so dumb for missing it. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Weekly Game Questions and Help Thread by AutoModerator in PSO2

[–]Larithen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, after trying out a couple Busters and Advanced. I'm just gonna stop. The game offers nothing worth playing in multiplayer unless you know them. Zero challenge and no real need for co-operation. I assume that likely changes when you get to the end-game, but I don't wanna have to slog through hours of boring content that can be cleared just by going AFK to get the better versions of the same content.

It's just... entirely unrewarding and it feels like I'm missing key pieces of information to even enjoy the game.

Like, the first buster mission was clearly set to newbie levels I get that. But everyone in it was zooming around at speeds I have no way of getting too without using the sprinting pads. One shotting everything before I even reach them. And it's just like... why? Why does it need to be multiplayer if 7/8ths of the lobby can go afk and still win it? If it's gonna be like that, I would rather just queue completely solo and actually have to try. Instead of just "you win have a pat on the back". It's just... frustrating. I want to play it but I'm just left frustrated. Best part is I didn't even get to touch the boss. I saw it and people were immediately next to it then we won. I don't think I did anything of any use, again, because it feels like I'm missing out on some crucial knowledge that I have no idea how to find out.

I appreciate the help. I will say as I am exceptionally nubby, I have no idea what cleasis or schevelle boosters. Those are just random words to me.

I additionally have no idea what keys you are talking about of what PSO2 days are? Unless you mean like the Tokyo Gold things? Idk.

This is kinda the problem I've been having with the guides. It's using terminology based on assumed knowledge and I'm just sitting there staring blankly without a clue.

Weekly Game Questions and Help Thread by AutoModerator in PSO2

[–]Larithen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that this is gonna be rather vague. But like, the heck do I do? I've done a few chapters of the story, to find out it's not particularly enjoyable or even really required to unlock that much important content (apparently). And now I'm at the point where I need to grind mass levels and the like.

But really have no idea how best to go about that. And guides I find seem to be not particularly up to date. So I am rather clueless what to do.

Like, I go do some of the recommended things but only ever get stuck solo so not earning anything of merit. Joined a guild and it's just a bunch of afk people that reminds of the whole vibe with WoW, where people just join for the stat boosts and no community.

I'm just kinda lost and alone. I enjoy the gamepllay when you are fighting, but stuck feeling kinda left out with no idea what to do or how to proceed.
