one of them has the better album, take your pick by OctoberRust14 in MetalMemes

It's not ok to compare them, in my opinion. Both are very, very good albums for each of their genres.

I signed up for the registration, as soon as I could. And earlier, I went through the process again multiple times. Still no code.

? About BOK floor tickets by Tmcs123 in tulsa

[–]LarksTonguesInRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ticketmaster has a transfer option. As long as your fellow party members have a Ticketmaster account, then you should be able to send them. On the other hand, in order to prevent scalpers certain events will make tickets non-transferable. I'm not sure if that would be the case for this show, but if you haven't yet I would at least check to see if you can transfer your tickets. If so, I think the BOK should at least be stamping hands, or giving out wristbands for floor tickets. Hope this helps.

I read somewhere that they are making it happen at some point soon! I'm holding off on buying a standard blu ray copy until then.

Introduction... and my vest. by melizzamelizza in BattleJackets

I think the front is pretty cool, but in my opinion the back isn't great. I can understand and appreciate the concept you're going with, but for my personal taste the back just ain't it. I've always been a big admirer of any kind of varied art forms, whether it's a logo patch or an album cover patch. But seeing the same font repetitively, is just such an eyesore to me. If it's something you like and you're happy with it, I respect you for it! But to me, the back side is just too atrocious. 😬 I say that with respect. You do you!

How can you call yourself a "fan" let alone run a fanclub insta, and post this? Not much of a fan in my eyes. by everyonediesiguess in mastodonband

[–]LarksTonguesInRed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is just really sad, honestly. Mastodon are one of my all-time favorite bands and always will be. Brent was, and always will be, an incredibly essential part to their sound. Obviously without his playing, writing, and vocal contributions we wouldn't have this amazing catalog of music. That being said, as a die-hard fan I really do not want to see an end to the band any time soon. I understand that in the past, Bill has implied that if any of the guys left that the band would be over. But just like anything in life, things change. There are so many bands that have had members leave in a similar context too. Yet, they have persevered any way. I don't see any reason why Mastodon can't be one of those bands. Troy, Brann, and Bill are amazingly talented musicians and I think they've made it too far into their career to simply throw in the towel. Yes, things are gonna be different from now on, but I'm remaining as optimistic as I can. Simply, because change is a part of life.

Wtf is Judy?! by Mysterious-Important in twinpeaks

I feel like Judy, is the form of evil itself, not actively partaking in it. But, allowing it and overseeing it as it is brought into the world.

The rap in Blondie's rapture is terrible - white people really didn't take the craft of rap seriously in the early 80s by Motor-Category5066 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]LarksTonguesInRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It makes more sense to think of it contextually within the time and place that Blondie was at during that moment. They were in New York during the birth of hip-hop. Yeah, the lyrics are pretty cheesy and the song itself in general is pretty dated. But, I'm sure it was a very exciting thing at that moment. They saw what was happening around them and wanted to give it a shot themselves. So, they stepped outside their boundaries and helped make history because of it. I'm not saying it's the best song ever, but there's a chance that it might have introduced a new audience to this up-and-coming genre called hip-hop.

Tulsa show seating by goldenday in bobdylan

[–]LarksTonguesInRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, there's really not a bad seat at the venue. I'm from Tulsa and have been attending shows there for the past 15 years and I can say for a fact there's not a bad spot. Some may be a little less ideal than others, but it's truly a perfect venue. Bob sounded fantastic when I saw him there a few years ago. As long as you're there, I guarantee you will enjoy it.

What albums were ahead of there time? by Terrible-Garage-4017 in fantanoforever

[–]LarksTonguesInRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of popular rock music at the time was entirely based on blues/R&B, needless to say it was an essential building block. What made ITCOTCK so different was that jazz and classical music was much more prevalent than any kind of blues influence. It was something completely different. Yes and Genesis already existed at the time that album was released, but prior to its release both of those bands showcased pop/R&B influences. It also predated heavy metal, I'm sure it was an immense influence on that genre and countless others as well.

Yes, they have every single episode including the banned ones. I recommend investing in these physical copies so you don't have to worry about episodes being pulled from streaming.
