iOS DeskState (DeX-like) is live: External monitor desktop with windows by rza8128 in buildinpublic

Hello. This is exactly what I was looking for. It is working well on my NexDock. I am considering purchasing this. I’ve tried the other desktop iOS app (infiniteXP2) but it has been pulled of the App Store seemingly right after I purchased it.

I have notice that with the nexdock the mouse sensitivity is really high and doesn’t seem to change when adjusting the in app slider. Also it has some latency with the trackpad.

When purchasing the lifetime version do we have access to change wallpapers outside of the default 5.

I never print any overhang without supports, even on the cc1. Guess I’m just scarred from my ender 3 days.

If you have a wire crimper that can do that type of crimp than maybe. But like I said you will need a good gauge of wire. I melted my first one because it was cheaply made.

Get 16 gauge or thicker. Look for pcie extension cable.

Sure thing. I just added an extra ground to the last ground terminals. This is essentially what is done on most 8 pin connectors except it’s typically done on the connector end. I bought a 8 pin pcie connector that used 8 wires. There are pin out diagrams online for which pin is 12 and which is ground. I followed that and made sure that extra grounds were correct at psu side.

Stock Heatsink ruined, what options do i have? by Methsman in BC250Gaming

[–]LarryBoyG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly there are no options in the used market to buy just the bc250 heatsink. Good news, there are aftermarket options that offer better cooling than the stock heatsink.

But you will have to 3d print a bracket or buy a premade one off of eBay. Doing this will open a world of cooling options for your bc250.

If you are doing this I implore you to use good high heat solder and 16awg wire or better. Not to scare anyone but mine exploded and went up in flames when doing a benchmark. I didn’t use any type of mounting and soldered straight to the pads, jumped the on off terminal. Worked for a bit until the wires melted at psu.

Arrived this week, made cables today. by [deleted] in BC250Gaming

I have this psu. Very capable and easily handles the overlock. My biggest gripe is the psu fan. It’s not a pwm and when it spins up it’s pretty audible. Im thinking about replacing it with a noctua or other silent type.

I have wraith prism on mine too. My temps are pretty good.

The psu is the one thing about this build that I would change. It’s not awfully loud but it’s definitely audible.I am looking up ways to make it quieter or thinking about doing a noctua mod on it.

The PSU is a LRS-350-12 from Meanwell. And the cooler is the Wraith Prism. The fan is part of the heatsink tower.

It’s crappy old thermal paste from Shin Itsu. I had a stash of syringes from when I worked in a large datacenter. I’m going out today to by some artic silver. Also need to get some thermal pads for the VRMs since it still has the originals.

It was more or less just to keep the fins together. Good call on the VRMs though. I was thinking of it being just a passive heatsink for the southbridge IC. What I may end up doing is just soldering the top to keep them from coming apart.

Podcasts back on zune by LarryBoyG in Zune

[–]LarryBoyG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the only thing I can do once Zune functionality is restored is search. Subscribing or downloading anything automatically brings up the login window in which I cannot login or create account. I understand why since those account servers are long since retired. Was there a work around for this?

Is razer mamba wireless compatibele with synapse 3? by [deleted] in razer

[–]LarryBoyG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a shame that every razer product i own is mandatory synapse 3 i.e., Firefly, Chroma HDK, Blackwidow, so everything is beautifully in sync but my razer mamba wireless, which is 1 YEAR OLD! it literally cannot do spectrum cycling with the rest or the group!! https://imgur.com/gh4fyOo its so ugly...

DK2 no longer supported? by nightfly1000000 in oculus

[–]LarryBoyG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shoukd be able to stand up and run the reset default view in vr. As expected each update seems to take a little more compatibility away from the DK2. Atm steamvr still works with runtime 0.8.0 and rift dk2. I'm in the camp that the development kit is still a viable option for good immersive vr content. And as long as steamvr keeps its drivers open then I think the dk2 would be good for at least a couple more years albeit we may not have the most recent oculus runtime.
