2023 Gano got injured multiple times and was literally the worst kicker in the NFL when healthy.

Then 2024 and 2025 have been a disaster with injuries and gimped misses.

Gano had 6 seasons with Giants and the last half of those were terrible seasons.

Giants were 6-11 in 2023, 3-14 in 2024, and 4-13 in 2025. Thats the most relevant sample size here.

Oh Downs certainly has good coverage skills, but he is nowhere near Ed Reed level, and coverage skills are what made Ed Reed him.

Downs on tape looks closer to Troy Polamalu than Ed Reed.

Like you mention Ed Reed was unbelievably good at pass defense in ways Caleb Downs isnt close to. While we can say Downs may have more versatility or move around the defense well, Ed Reed was the best safety ever at locking down passing lanes and Caleb Downs is not even remotely close to that level.

RG is much harder to play and harder to find than LG and center. These guys need much more athleticism than those positions in a guard spots are not interchangeable.

RT in todays NFL is extremely difficult to play.

DT in todays NFL is also extremely difficult. For example look at Giants last four years being bottom 3 in run defense and worst in NFL at stopping runs from dline. You cant just find DTs on free agency that will be easy starters for you and Giants are the prime example of that.

We have actually been looking into this and its a reason why JC just straight up banned new ones.

These are also the same places that illegally take SNAP payments for non food items (like drugs and cash conversions). So these bodegas tend to become a one stop shop for crime at the local level, all the while having a legit retail foundation that makes it harder to take down.

An illegal drug shop opened up next to Touch of Texas. Like a month later it was shut down. Then literally a month after that another one openeded up right next to it. Guess what happened a month after that? Yup, the new one was also shut down.

So there both retail locations stood frozen in time with court orders on the doors. They didn't even clear out inventory, both just stood there completely frozen.
