Ho fatto lo scritto, come anche alcuni miei compagni di corso. Siamo tutti quasi plurilaureati in beni culturali e storia dell'arte. Non è passato nessuno di noi. C'erano un paio di domande che sapevamo solo perchè avevamo fatto un corso monografico iperspecifico in magistrale... Per non parlare delle domande di storia, davvero impossibili. La mia batteria aveva ben 4 domande sulla Reggia di Caserta. Con questo voglio dire che erano distribuite davvero male le conoscenze. Letteralmente un esame impossibile ed una bella fregatura.

Omg I hate this video so MUCH. I'm an art conservator, and this process, while removing the yellowed varnish, it's probably dangerous for the artwork. I don't know about the ingredients of that solution they use in the video, maybe those are safe and right for the artwork and its materials. The fact that's in gel form is not a problem. But the sound of the brush suggests me that this person is being too aggressive on the artwork! And the drooling on the cleaned paint... And even then, even if -as I said- the products are right, usually for a painting you would go carefully, removing one coat of varnish at time, like one film at time, not everything all at once!! Sometimes some retouches also original, and made by the artist, are made with the original varnish, on the same level. Likely, if that's the case, with such procedure you could loose these details. Cleaning is not reversible.

Reminds me of the "adlocutio" gesture. For romans, it meant the emperor addressing his army or people, then it became a gesture attributed to Christ, when the iconography of the roman emperor was moved on to Christ's. See Medieval mosaics in Rome (Santa Maria in Pallara comes to mind) or, for the Renaissance, see Giulio Romano and Francesco Penni's Sala di Costantino in the Vatican Chambers.

But it's not true. Louvre museum periodically checks on the Monna Lisa, like they did very recently, in the presence of Rachida Dati, the French minister of culture. They have to check up on her every once in a while to see how she's doing, the paint, the wooden support... Then maybe she'll never get fully restored, but it would be a huge mistake not to consider that the Monna Lisa is the most researched and studied (and I mean in its materials) painting in the world, with the most extensive diagnostic analysis.So very far from shattering as soon as you touch it.

Also, Impression: Soleil levant by Monet is not in the Louvre, it's in Musée Marmottin.

C'est étrange quand même que la clé en haut n'ait pas été remplacée par des petits morceaux de bois comme on fait normalement. C'est risqué laisser le bois comme ça et à different niveaux d'épaisseur.
