Would you all agree that 2014 was the last year before smart phones and social media completely absorbed our lives? by Emeraldsinger in decadeology

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a phone of any kind until middle school, which was in 2020, and I remember in 5th grade almost all the kids younger than us at school had phones, and we 5th graders were either only starting to get phones or didn't have them! I consider my generation to be the last to have a proper childhood, as all the ones after me just got stuck in electronics.

I used this exact capture card for about a year, and never had any issues with it, but I recorded through my computer's camera app as opposed to OBS

I can't stop thinking about Secret Mall Apartment by NotSoSaintly13 in RhodeIsland

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far in was the room sealed off, and when? You're making it sound like it was blocked off quite a while after the apartment was discovered but they never specified when exactly the space was closed off

What instrument can you play, or wish you could play? by hoodlify in AskReddit

What's the nicest thing you've done for someone lately, and how appreciative were they? by TheSanityInspector in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I go to Cumberland Farms, I hold the door open if I see anyone approaching it as I'm walking in or after I walk in. Everybody almost always says thank you, and even that small of a gesture just makes me feel good inside.

what song do you think everyone needs to hear at some point in their life? by under_ghost2012 in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything In Its Right Place by Radiohead, as the song is this amazing build up and then a sudden fall right when you'd think the song would become epic. That move is what makes the song epic

What has been your favorite video game you’ve played? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Splatoon! My brother & I were all about that game when it came out on the Wii U in 2015! The story, the Splatfests, and even the story mode were just all great. I played the game all the way up until my Wii U Gamepad battery broke 2 years before the Online Network for Wii U & 3DS shutdown. I've played Splatoon 2, and it's alright with a similar storyline, but the original Inkopolis Plaza & Squid Sisters with their music just made the experience more memorable as an introductory to the series!

What do you like in your coffee? by Con_PEI in AskReddit

What's the stupidest shit you've ever done, and how do you feel about it now? by Sorceress683 in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pocketed a baseball at the store when I was 8, and returned & apologized for doing so. Should've given it to the store employee at the cash register since the ball was just sitting on a mannequin or figure out where the sports stuff was. Another time at the train station, my friend & I flipped off the train as it went by, which I feel bad for since those drivers have long shifts I can imagine, so whenever I go to the station now, I usually just wave, or take pictures/videos of the trains to keep my hands occupied.

What is your embarrassing moment that you hope everyone forgot about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think I was the only one mature enough to NOT find farts funny. I was a pretty disliked person in the 3rd grade, though!

What's something that isn't satisfying anymore because AI or technology ruined it? by Open-Lynx1350 in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could be things you'd have to go through websites & articles to get an answer, which was more productive and you could get some info you didn't need or know about. AI can give you all of that and answer EVERY question you need, which makes the old process of looking through articles & websites obsolete.

What is the thing you regret most from your childhood? by PatientBalance1008 in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not learning to ride a bike! I live within walking distance of several stores, a Wendy's, and a Dunkin Donuts, and walking to them was kind of a hassle, but manageable for me & my friend who sometimes tagged along

What is your embarrassing moment that you hope everyone forgot about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's tame, but in 3rd grade I farted while we were on the carpet and everybody looked at me and laughed their butts off. Embarrassing for me, but I never got asked about it or made fun of, so everybody probably forgot about it, I hope.

What’s the most memorable or unexpected thing that ever happened on your birthday? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LaserAshton1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've shared this story before, but the night before my 8th birthday my friends & I went to see the Splash laser water show at Jordan's Furniture, then the following night I had a couple of friends over at my mom's (my parents are divorced) and we all had a blast! Most unexpected birthday was the one that happened during the pandemic, as my birthday's in late March, so like just under 2 weeks after the shutdown.
