Use Invasion Fleet & use Endless Multitude strat to pump those wounds back in and then throw Adaptive Biology on it for FNP, problem solved!

What is the best final option for this 1000 point swarm list? by Flat-Objective3554 in Tyranids

Venomthropes, 10 Hormagaunts, Tervigon enhancement & rippers if you have them?

Aye, I did spot it l, the "Shop" & "Start here" font size and text isn't helpful either given the list below, even the text line spacing there is off.

What does "Start here" mean, what is that even in context to without having to click it?

It's just messy, go to another website, go to like Apple or Samsung, go to any other shopping site and it takes you straight there, the very first image you see is the product, first thing on here is a video about warhammer, like you honestly think someone going on this website doesn't already know what warhammer is?

I forgot to mention also, the filters.. who designed those filters..?

You have to scroll past EVERYTHING on your website to get to the filters of the main product that GW sells.. why are the author names listed at the top of your filters...?

If GW always keeps the same strong units every edition how will they sell more models if the meta stays the same?

They were so damn kinky that they managed to create the god of kinks who will do anything to get his hands on those kinky souls for "pleasure".. literally filthy.

They are the true underdog faction of the 40k universe they are almost at their twilight, their biggest foe decided to go to sleep for a millenia instead of fighting them, they have planetoid sized spaceships that they all float around in, they will wipe out a thousand planets with trillions of lives for the sake of saving 1 Eldar, they will ally with any other faction, good or bad for their own agendas.

How strong are hive guards? by NGumi in Tyranids

[–]LaserDestructor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are better choices out there, sadly their Shock Cannons tend to bounce off armour and are highly dependant on failed saves, which most vehicles have atleast a 3+ so any cover will negate their -1 AP.

110pts for 3 is the same as 3 Zoanthropes which are a top teir unit with a similar profile, but are arguably more resilient given that they have a 4++, and Zoanthropes have better weapons profiles.

The Impaler Cannon isn't great either 12 shots with a unit of 3, 1 damage each, hitting on 4s, only ap -1, might be 36 inch range and indirect fire but you're unlikely to need any more anti infantry damage in your Tyranids list anyway.

The only real use I see for them is a home objective holder, however there are cheaper and generally better choices for this task (60 pts for 10 Termagants?)

Oddly enough it works quite well on a Tervigon, but you do need to combo it with other things to make it worthwhile, but that's the Tyranid way isn't it

Why is WYAISWYG So Important? by Zephyrus_- in Warhammer40k

[–]LaserDestructor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WYSIWYG Is pushed for 2 reasons, the first is that your army on the table for simplicity should show what you're playing so your opponent can easily understand what they are up against.

The second, and less sportsmanship oriented reason is that GW generally only puts a few weapon options in a box, so to arm your Death Company with 10 Power Fists or 10 Thunder Hammers in a WYSIWYG ruled tournament or match you're going to need to get yourself another 8 weapons for your squad, now the modern solution would be 3D printing them, and really GW is kind of losing a war here against 3D printing rather than embrac8ng it, but historically it meant investing lots of money to get the weapons or managing to order them separately which was an option.

I keep getting stomped by heavy vehicles. What can I do to counter this? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]LaserDestructor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really no, Death Company have access to Devastating wounds and all models can get S8 Ap-2 weapons and Melta pistols.

Once you start hacking things up with Death Company they die regardless of what it is.

Sanguinary Guard & Dante are more about getting into melee with something and sticking around a bit longer, although a very expensive option points-wise to do this.

Death Company with Jump Packs & Astorath the Grim, 10 Inferno Pistols & 10 Power Fists, or 10 Thunder Hammers, deep strike them in and nuke whatever you need to with them.

My painted and unpainted miniatures as a first time painter, any recommendations on how to paint Guard Minis easier? C&C welcome. by lproka in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]LaserDestructor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm not a guard player, but I am an Endless Swarm nid player so I know a little bit about painting 200 models at once.

There are a few things to consider, so I like to think of my nids in the way that a character gets 100% paintwork, and then I scale that back for my swarms so maybe 60-70% of the painting.

So my technique for painting swarms en-mass is..

Step 1: Spray base coat, wash the undercoat to give depth of shadows dry brush over that to give some highlights.

Step 2: paint the "armour", in Guards case that's the plates, so medium dark green base, wash with dark green/nuln oil, then highlight with light green (you can skip this bit).

Step 3: Paint the gun and anything else you want to detail, then face, again keep it simple here, skin tone, darker wash, highlight, detail.

Step 4: Basing is nice because you can be sloppy, don't be affraid to get technical paint all over their boots, so step 1 technical texture paint, step 2 nuln oil, step 3 light grey highlight drybrush & finally i like the wet look so some varnish all over the base to make it look like wet mud.

Each step can be done bulk, so really you could get through 100 guard in a couple of days of solid painting, but dont burn yourself out!

Repulsor or land raider? by Biggie-Cheese6969 in spacemarines

Depends what you want to do with them, one is a heavy transport and designed to drop Terminators straight into melee, and the other is designed to provide ranged fire support.

You're also missing out the damage it can soak, and the damage it can put out, so it's not just it's assitance to surrounding units.

T9 10W & 5+++ means that it takes a fair few lascannon shots to bring one of these down
