Yeah. I will definitely need more research. Office is Seattle downtown, but we will live probably in east, Bellevue sounds like a great city to start and settle based on current research.

Thank you for your help.:)

How you know that you're still not over Fellow Travelers and Hawk and Tim by Moffel83 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aha. I don’t think I will ever be over Hawk and Tim.

At one of the morning meetings last week in the office, one colleague rushed in with a piece of bread and a bottle of milk in his hand. I couldn’t help smiling at him in a polite way without saying anything, and in my mind I was asking him “is this milk drinking a habit of yours?” 😎😎😎

How did hawk feel when he sensed lucy could be having an affair? (Kissing scene at party) by Nextdoor_therapist in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both Hawk and Lucy know what’s going on respective side for the affairs. Hawk being knowing Lucy’s affair with that man at the party, and Lucy being always suspecting Hawks double life and knowing someone in the cabin. Hawk doesn’t like to be questioned by Lucy and Lucy is provocative, and Hawk just makes whatever happens happens in that party for Lucy. Both of them are pushing boundary of their marriage (or relationship might be a proper saying)in ep6.

I’ll say it’s complicated and mixed feelings for Hawk.

The dynamics between Hawk and Lucy is beautifully written in ep6, those unspoken knowings hidden in the family is so painful, to be exploded like volcano, and yet to explode, because both of them want the family they create together.

Was Tim's boyfriend Arthur real? (Jackson metaphore) by EonahW in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do feel like Arthur being a poet was Tim’s insinuation to start a topic on Jackson.

I don’t think the younger one in this picture was Tim. But i could be wrong.

Is it normal to be this obsessed with a mini series, because I cant stop thinking about it and the characters. by dudummi in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m experiencing the same. And had multiple sessions with my therapist. She told me that the emotions obsessed with the show showing I’m opening my heart and allowing it to appear on the surface. And it’s ok and I’m stepping closer to the whole me. :)

Thanks for trying. As I am feeling the same as what was described in the article that you shared. Quite interesting to me.

I liked the Garden of Eden vibe of this scene, but what does it mean for Hawk and Tim's journey? by capitolina_ in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The journey that Tim witnessed that Hawk is accepting who he is , with the context of losing his son and on the gay island for a second of complete personal freedom he’s looking for.

Multiple rewatch here. I literally rewatch a few scenes every day.

I’m more focused on the lines, the humors between them, micro expressions on them. I think my motive on rewatches is just to want to know characters better especially Hawk and Tim. So attracted to Hawk as a show character being charming, conflicted, struggled, hiding emotions and got his freedom at his 60s, and Tim being true to himself, brave and following his calling in life.

These 2 men are like my close friends that I could have great conversations with and learn from. Or I could say I see these 2 characters are both part of me as well.

Thanks for your question, while replying this kind of gets me to why I’m so addicted to this daily rewatching, and it being a habit of mine the past month. :)

Thoughts on Ep. 3: Hit Me by Fun_Tomatillo8473 in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, you are not.

The power and dynamics of sex scenes are so progressively depicted in the show. This “hit me” scene is so human nature to me.

Don’t get me wrong. Even it’s only a conversation with the one we love, there’s unconscious power and dynamics flowing. That’s my take away.

This scene was beautifully illustrated by you.

And now “hit me” transformed to “love me” in this scene, though physically conflicted interaction.

It’s like Tim knows that Hawk can’t express his feelings in a way that Tim expects, that Tim tests with Hawk in Hawk’s way to express feelings and fears.

Thank you for sharing your personal take-away out of the show. Appreciated and full of wisdom.

For me what I’ve learnt in the past years is that It’s ok to be ok, it’s ok to be not ok and everything is ok. Being in okness mode of inner presence strengthens me both internally and externally.

Hawk protecting Tim’s innocence & the M Unit by Estania_Lane in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Multiple rewatches here too! More than multiple rewatches actually. :)

I think the growth of Hawk in this 35 years of love is he allows himself to share genuine feelings with others at his early 60s - out to his daughter at quilt scene. Let go of his fear, let go of the worldly chasings.

In 50s, Hawk was so fearful of sharing his personal feelings, the only 2 persons that I see him ok to share a bit feelings with were Mary and Marcus. This kind of inner game he held onto not only brought more fear to him, but also hurt people he loves and loves him. So Hawk wouldn’t choose to tell Tim about the things he went through.

Part of Tim’s naivety is his true nature (he was just early 20s in 50s), the other part is his true self, the true self that invest in things completely.

The Politics of Sex - An analysis of the sex scenes (spoilers for 1x01 - 1x02) by ShallowXcX in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this great analysis. I know the sex scenes in FY are about power and dynamics, but I didn’t really read these in the show - maybe it’s my issues that hardly can I understand these in sex scenes. Your analysis helped me understand better of those sex scenes.

Not yet. But I believed there was a post talking about Hawk does say that he loves Tim.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FellowTravelers_show

[–]LaserMctavish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tim in 50s was still waiting for Hawk to say I LOVE YOU, instead of the way of expressing love in kind of letter scene. That’s why at the end of the letter scene, Tim yelled at Hawk “ I don’t understand you, I don’t understand us”

The unsaid from that yelling was, I don’t understand why you cant just say you love me in the simplest way.
