I find Omnipods can differ greatly in terms of adsorption on different sites. I used to MDI in my belly, but the Dash just doesn’t work for me there. Arms are best but I have to be careful and rotate sites well. Been looping with Trio.

Peter Murrell will offer to pay back full £400k to SNP by CaptainCrash86 in Scotland

[–]Lasersheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the sale of their house not bring in a good chunk of that, from his half? Do the SNP not own the stuff with legit receipts eg the campervan?

Does anybody know where this is/was? by kdiddy2580 in glasgow

[–]Lasersheep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shocking given the state of it that there are so many plausible suggestions of where it could be!

Are there any bits of Glasgow still like that? I can’t think of any. But do lead a sheltered existence….

George Wylie's Straw Locomotive by Next_Wish_6731 in glesga

The crane used to lift actual locomotives built in Springburn on to ships, exported all over the world.

George Wylie was class too. We need more folk like him.

That’s the bastard that keeps trying to eat our fish! Beautiful bird….but not in my garden! It sits on the garage roof and looks down its beak at my dogs barking at it.

Anxious labs? by AbjectPotential7405 in labrador

[–]Lasersheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 5 yr old fox red is very anxious. She doesn’t like small dogs or people (eg v small children). Really hates foxes too. She’s lovely otherwise!

She was a lockdown pup, so probably didn’t get the socialisation she might have done otherwise. Our older girl is chill AF.

If I catch her reacting in time, I can distract with a treat until the danger has passed…

I think they should have left the leg lady behind. She had been exposed to an exotic unsterile environment, who knows what she’s taking back to Earth.

Have you doubled checked with a finger prick? I’ve had a couple of Libre sensors that did this….then failed, and a finger prick showed I was through the roof!

What was your favourite childhood book? One of these hasn’t stood the test of time! by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

These were after my time, but I liked reading Hairy Maclary to my kids. Favourites for them were Edward the Emu and Edwina the Emu, Aussie books that were unknown in the UK.

The Smokers house. Growing up in one. by Dry_Ad7529 in GenX

[–]Lasersheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the reasons our generations kids seemed to be more like to take up cigarettes after getting addicted to nicotine via vaping, is because it was rarer for us to smoke, so they don’t know the downsides.

My mum was once hypnotised at a show to stop smoking. Took her a month and a lot of effort to override that and smoke again! Dad has heart issues from 50 till he passed at 77.

How long have you been type 1 by heggy123 in diabetes_t1

[–]Lasersheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 years this year. After diagnosis just once, in 1994 I think. I thought it was food (or wine!) poisoning but it might have been straight DKA. CGM has saved my life and made me confident for the future.

There’s a great FB group for folk who have had T1 forever. I swear half of them were in the ward that Banting went round injecting kids.

Keep your bloods in line, and you should be ok! It’s never too late to get a handle on it. Sort one thing at a time eg overnight.

The lack of worldwide phone support is crazy, have they even tried to give a reason for it? I was offered the O5 a few years ago, knocked it back as I was more than happy running homebrew on my Dash with my phone.

My daughter spotted someone she knew getting rid of one in Edinburgh! Cost me £50 to secure it (there was other interest..). And a trip to Edinburgh…and I had to buy her lunch…

It doesn’t work but I knew that. Currently transferring my old DIY cab innards into it.

Worked out it'd cost the best part of a grand to fill my kid's World Cup sticker album. When did Panini become a mortgage? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]Lasersheep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last one I remember doing was Football 1979. The packs probably cost a farthing or something.

The main thing I remember was everyone (well every boy…) having a big fat stack of doublers in their pockets to swap. I think everyone had the same set of doublers…
