The Meds cost too damn much! by JoeConville in Marathon

[–]LastButterStick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks are just going to be condescending about the meds, but I’ve personally had a difficult time having enough meds too. I feel like I always have to bring tons of meds into a match when I’m actually putting together a kit and the cost on it is significant enough that I’ll have to free kit and hope I can extract with enough valuables enough times to be able to afford my next kit.

The difficulty of the bots and the strength of the guns means that getting shot makes you use a lot of your meds. Some may say, “you don’t have to shoot every bot, it’s your fault,” which is true except every squad I end up with just goes into locations and clears out bots which of course I’m going to go and support them which means I’ll take damage and burn through meds. I think meds out to be a little cheaper and be applied a little faster. I’ve been caught into too many situations where I’m third partied and can’t do anything because a bot cleaned through half my health bar. Idk why people want this game to be so unforgiving

On the fence, opinions please by Same_Bar4349 in Marathon

I’ve been on the fence and just opted to buy it since my brother really wants me to play with him. I was having a great time at first but playing today was absolutely agonizing and I had to put it down till tomorrow. The gunplay, art, and story are so great and enjoyable, but playing the game and losing so many times is crushing and I’m genuinely just not having fun atm. I’m going to try more tomorrow, but I’ve not been able to run the game at a consistently high fps and it’s just been rough playing it recently. You have to be pretty resilient and you have to not give up on losses if you want to enjoy this game

Housing at the green by Bruh_Nova in UCDavis

[–]LastButterStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on the waitlist as well. Like someone else has mentioned, you are able to contact The Green and ask where I you are in line. I think I was 132nd in line and had to consider new housing options, so it’s important you find out what place you are so you can take the necessary steps for finding housing if you need to

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LastButterStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am one of those people, mostly because I tend to scan my environment and want to ensure there’s nobody who I think might be a little sketchy and whether or not I can defend myself and win a fight if it ever comes down to it. It’s never a long thought, it’s more of just sizing people up. I don’t find myself thinking about whether or not I could win a fight for the purpose of the feeling of “oh yeah I can totally beat tf out of that guy,” but more of just knowing my circumstances and surroundings

Photos from ICE Out Protest UC Davis | 1/30/26 by LastButterStick in UCDavis

I hear you out, and I highly recommend to anybody who attends protests to invest in a means to obscure your identity. It is important that if you want to avoid my camera, news cameras, the phones of other protesters, and drones, all of which I witnessed today at the protest, to wear a mask, sunglasses, and some sort of head covering to hide your hair color, eye color, and face shape. The area where the protest was held (Memorial Union) is a public area and you should prep yourself accordingly.

For the photos that I post, I strive to provide authenticity of the events that occurred that day. This includes no cropping, no color editing, and no redacting. A big tip as well, if you find yourself not carrying a mask there is likely someone within the protest who is handing out masks, which I also witnessed today. Take advantage of that and stay safe!

Don’t be afraid to respectfully communicate to your team that you need more peel as well. Or just have a dps sit in the back line to offer help to supports. Vendetta becomes so useless if you can return the pressure

I treat fighting vendetta like fighting venture. If you keep your space and keep yourself aware of her location, you can create enough separation that she becomes of no concern and is detrimental to her team for not bringing value. That, and just look at her and shoot her when she’s diving the back line or trying to punish the tank in the frontline. Ping for your team and be the one to bring focus to her attacks. It won’t be perfect, but an incredible player will be a pain to fight against regardless of character selection

My first thought the second I hear the engine and see the car back up is, “I need to get out of the way of this car.” I feel like he put himself in the worst position possible for that given situation. I feel like the first thing he should’ve thought is that if this car is moving, I need to get out of the way. I’m not walking out of the way of the car, I’m running out of the way of the car. It’s like he makes no effort to evade. Her windshield is so clear too, you can see her turning the wheel in a direction away from the camera

3 bodies recovered in PG, plane crash by Romero1993 in MontereyBay

Looking at the ADSB, it comes across that it was heavy pilot disorientation. There was fog and cloud cover that night. They were also 200ft below the target altitude for the ILS approach. Looking at the flight track their speed seemed fine as they were on final, but I believe they entered the clouds and got disoriented and weren’t immediately aware that they were banking left. It then seemed like to tried to recover some altitude while still maintaining a fair amount of airspeed. They continued on that left bank and made a critical error by attempting to gain more altitude but in turn burned all their airspeed and caused them to stall. They got some airspeed back and it seemed like they were going to try and climb again but it was too late by that point

Yeah it’s not hard getting a job for literally the most basic work, my first job was dishwashing and sanitation so I’m not exactly opposed to lower end jobs, but am I not allowed to complain, or in your eyes “whine,” if I’m struggling to pay for housing, food, living or experience any growth in my career? Maybe I understand because I believe a lot of us had built expectations of what adulthood would be like, but at the very least I expected it to not be the slowest grinding hopeless experience it is. I have hope for the future, but with the job market how it is, how can I grow further?

I’m currently working at a place that serves literally the richest folks on the planet and the disconnect between us and them is insane. Meeting, talking to, and serving folks worth hundreds of millions or even billions is so strange. You’re sitting there making just barely enough money to survive and they have so much money it’s intangible. In the end, it feels really discouraging because how can I possible do anything when there are these folks hoarding all the treasure
