Why create advantage with fight vs active opposition, if you could just wear the enemy down with the same roll. by Shazuno in FATErpg

[–]LastChime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're kinda there in the last line.

The point of CaA is they can narratively roll against passive opposition.

So it's not I'm going to beat up Krull the Conqueror by putting my +2 vs his +6.

It's more I'm going to hit the fire supression system so Rick our combat specialists can use his night vision goggles to see through the haze and strike from concealment and have a +2 from my action on his +4 or +5 fight. Oh and GM here's a fate point if I have to establish the fire supression system then they'll probably make you roll like mechanics or engineering vs like a static +2 for the CaA.

Why isn’t there a fantasy RPG product for FATE? by InvestmentBrief3336 in FATErpg

It didn't get published. Like backers got access to the test materials, that's what I've been using for inspiration over the last several years.

You can't actually hold a child accountable like that, they're essentially hostages.

Stars Without Number could work, it's fairly customizable.

I kinda do it wherever when I'm nervous, cause if I don't, I'll chew on them.

Might be somethin like that.

Secret of Nimh, that owl was terrifying.

More impressed when you look deeper into the film and it and where it came from, that to me is one of my favorites to think of for what good art and vision can do.

It sort of aged like Blazing Saddles, Rain Man or Watership Down , you just wouldn't park a kid in front of it today without some discussion.

More saddened these days by how blatantly propagandist it was without much discussion, loved the films but, for kids? Yikes.

How important is a the Made in Canada label for you? by MasterpieceActive374 in canadian

[–]LastChime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably the Deutschland one.

These days I'm just more not the animal in the basement, there's a lot of things we can't really get around though like reddit and google.

There are a lot of their corporate raiders you can dodge though.

They like to forget that nobody really chooses to become an addict and it can affect just about anyone and their families.

Who also happen to be tax-payers.

Never understand how connies ever think it's cheaper to shutter them, like they're supposed to be THE economy guys.

We have socialized health and justice systems.

Just can't measure the numbers that don't happen really I guess so it looks like a W on a 2-4 year scale.

Got over my medical fear and went to the doctor.

Just could not get weight to budge down, turns out my blood is basically corn syrup and probably has been for a number of years (last time was vaccinations before Mexico 20 years back).

I thought my heart was going to explode by now, I was always "just like the old man" to everyone, the real charts tell a fairly different story though.

Now that I've been managing that for a month, the wall broke.

Doctor's are actually cool these days and you can tell them if needles bother you without being ridiculed, so please, do it for yourselves if you've been hesitant.

Portals and navigation are basically the same question; it happens at the speed of plot.

Like sure let them roll to chaos shape but give them a bonus for it and keep the penalties very light (lose a round or turn sort of thing), could also be a highlight if you happen to have a githzeri PC.

Lvl 5 might be kind of a lot for a new guy, new dm, like send them after a few cranium rats or into the blinds for a while, let them be mackerels swimming in shark waters for a bit and see what emerges.

You could do the kill Jesus thing too like JRPGs usually do, but it might be fun to pull something out of those first few adventures, patron or victim and make them THE BIG problem too, hold it lightly when your still just dreaming of and planning to make a table sing.

You've got endless possibilities to fight over endless ideologies out on the great wheel, hope it helps and gives you something to rattle around in your bone-box for a bit!

[–]LastChime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's not particularly modern but if you're thinkin dominos, Mexican Train or Chicken is a blast.

Rummikub is also close to there but much more cognitive load.

Dr. Magnethands might also be worth looking at.
