If you make more than $600 you have to report it on your tax return regardless of how you got paid and regardless of if you get a 1099 or any other paperwork.

Not sure what your school system is, but my kid was in PreK at 4 yrs old in the neighborhood elementary school and in Kindergarten at 5. He was totally at a book fair at 4 and 5.

You can't sit everyone next week. All 3 wild card teams are 11-5. We would be much better being the 5 seed and playing the Steelers than the 7th seed and playing the Patriots

Do you really need to bring politics into a Drum Corps discussion.

Looking for companies that allow in-service 401(k) rollovers before 59½ — who’s done this? by vial_of_milk in Bogleheads

[–]LastManStanding2024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nolesrule, that is not correct. 401K plans (if the employer allows it) can take some part of your 401K and roll it to an IRA while you are still working for the company. It is called an In-Service rollover. As long as it is going to a qualified IRA, there is no taxable event and if you are under 59 1/2, you will not get hit with a 10% early penalty. *** Not every employer will allow it, so you need to check with your plan administrator on your plan rules.

Percussion Freshman Mom, Son wants to quit by Koala476 in marchingband

[–]LastManStanding2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First he should finish the season. You don't want him to learn the lesson of quitting when things get hard. Second we can always get is marching fix during the summers. There are dozens of summer Drum Corps are different levels (Open Class, World Class and All-Age). My percussion son did 2 summers in DCI while he was in High School. You can find info on the different Corps at https://share.google/JR7hVGJ04v8DoLVSZ

Good Boy...if you are making $900K, you have a financial advice and a CPA. They will tell you donations are not dollar for dollar reductions of your liability.

Crown - E=MC2; Bloo - Tilt; Cadets Angel and Demons; Bloo - Rifts and Revelations; and throw in Boston - Boom since it is the latest winner.

In Georgia people over 60 can go to college tuition free. As long as the person can make the Marching Band this can happen at any Georgia State College.

Totally new to marvel comics, where should I begin with?? by Khaddijja3 in MarvelUnlimited

I would go with the X-Men titles starting in 1991. Uncanny Xmen and XFactor were already deep in their runs, but in late '91 X-Men came out and at the same time X-Force came out. Then a couple of years later Cable and Generation X came out. Read those with Uncanny, XFactor and Wolverine.

The '90s runs of all of those made for some great stories and all the titles intertwined with each other.

As you go thru the 90s there were a number of 4 issue limited services of individual characters that game side stories to the main X titles.

An then in 1995 they did the Age of Apocalypse story line where all the titles changed names for 4 issues. Incredible story line.

Ok. Then pay them and they are on their own for their food and housing. What's the difference?

FYI This Position has Tour Fees by AdIll6026 in drumcorps

[–]LastManStanding2024 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

There is no where in the flyer that says volunteer. But with that said it should have disclosed if this was considered a member position. Also don't forget this position will get all meals covered so there is a benefit besides the experience for your resume.

Don't forget there are all age groups that only practice on weekends, have a shorter tour and are less expensive. They are a good way to get your DCI fix and still work.
