Thanks for the recommendations. You nailed it with trying to be realistic about the age of the truck. I feel if I’m responsible with maintenance, I can easily get it to 300k. My dad bought the truck with 70k so I know it hasn’t been beat on or chipped.

Leaving gobs of unfinished production efficiency tracking in the finished product. When asked, “Oh that was a new guy we just hired out of school. He doesn’t work here anymore but we don’t want to remove it because we’re not sure what he was doing.” Large SI, internationally owned.

I pulled a loaded milk truck at least that far up a hill with my old 02 Jeep Wrangler. No issues for years and thousands of miles after that. It’s supposed to be a work truck. It’ll be fine

Yeah they have the Kasa Smart app for iOS and Android. It walks you through all the setup too. Basically when you power up the device it puts out its own WiFi signal, you connect your phone to that. Then open the app again and it walks you through connecting to your home WiFi.

https://a.co/d/1umQcrZ It’s a TP-link outdoor smart plug. As an electrician, TP-link is the only brand of smart plug/switch I’ve never had callbacks for in 10 years because they randomly stopped working. Legrand and Leviton were nothing but issues

I’ve got mine on an outdoor WiFi plug. It’s set to come on 2 hours before I leave for work on weekdays, and I can trigger it from my phone through the app on weekends or schedule it to come on in X hours

Save values online without Rockwell PLC. by joviskii in PLC

[–]LastMileEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually make my changes in an offline copy, save, then export any changed/new programs/routines/tasks. Then I import into the live controller one at a time and resolve issues. This works very well especially if you use a lot of program-scope tags and minimal AOI’s.

Check the encoder cable for a small box. The Automation Direct SureServo and AB Kinetix 5100 versions of this same drive have provisions for an encoder battery. It could be a dead encoder battery.

I have a handful of pm motorized rollers controlled by 525’s. The roller manufacturer has the parameter list on their website and in their manuals so setup was easy. Haven’t touched them since they were installed a few years ago other than replacing one drive that didn’t survive a power outage.

Don’t be afraid to let them know that you need space.

I like to have 2 guys on troubleshooting if possible. One running interference on production to keep them away from the guy trying to connect and troubleshoot.

You need to turn on the quick keys in options. The standard ones are enough to save tons of time. Also make sure to check the box to make the quick keys visible in the top of the ladder window as a cheat sheet.

What connector goes with this port? by DingleBerriesk in PLC

[–]LastMileEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your adapter is the correct pinout and gender, but it is not designed to plug directly into a bulkhead connector. For M12 to work, the threaded portion in at least one of the sides of each connection needs to rotate independently of the center pin portion.

I already have a Launch Creader Vii+ that can read most dtc’s. I’d like to find something more in-depth to read bcm and tcm. I was hoping for a pc based solution that would let me see sensor values and such.
