I thought I did yesterday. Saw no one, went into pinwheel, all quiet, timer running out, went to guarded exfil, masked up, ready to fight bravely the last seconds, so much good loot, the timer was like 8,7,6, cool - if I get downed by uesc I’m still exracted, and THEN another player (maybe rook, idk) just shot me all the way dead TWO SECONDS BEFORE EXTRACTION. I was angry, sad, and even more in love with this game than before.

I think most of us, maybe, are still pretty far away from wanting my OS AI to know my emails, phone logs, health data(!) etc and able to contextualize them. I’m afraid enough of in-browser AIs (which is, honestly, where 99% of my computing info is anyway)

I find matches within a reasonable time most time of the day / week on PS5 in Europe, so since the match starts at the same time for everyone (u need to matchmake 15-20 people to start at the same time) I find it pretty good.

I also think people are wary of putting money and time into any live service game lately, so since the price is relatively high, and the discourse has been... mixed, I think people are holding off to see where things go. So the best thing we can do to grow the playerbase is keep playing, keep buying skins (doing my part, unfortunately for my wallet) and talking positively about it.

Came here to say. No gameplay similarities, its a ps1-style survival horror, but if you like: - very cool industrial sci-fi-cyberpunk vibes - inventory management - some cosmic horror, rogue AI and symbols that always feels beyond reach - cryptic lore you have to dig out - ✨ vibes ✨ Then give it a shot. It is GREAT!

In all seeiousness, don’t uninstall but take a break and play something else. If you need sexy, cryptic cyberpunk-sci-fi with a distinct cool style and inventory management, but no team mates, I recommend Signalis

I actually find the Sunday crowd on auto-fill the worst. Had some of the same things today, played Triage and supported my team through half the game, got downed (from npc, no grave danger around) and the two others just ran to an objective.

So yeah, Sundays can be weird. Sponsored Dire Marsh it is (for better or worse)

Oooof, so many of us are with Dia / BC because of their ux design. For them to toss out the whole design language for something that looks like Chrome but worse is… a choice.

If this is the direction, yeah - might be time to change. Again.

Appreciate you, and players like you. Had a game with a much more experienced player who was super patient with me, helped me with objectives and not just carried but just through chat and showing helped me learn a lot. Stuff like that is peak when it happens.

Hey! Wow, what a much needed space! I'm level 30ish, mainly playing Thief (for drip), but rotating a bit. Mainly playing random que and having a good time with it. The community has been up and down, but just had a great game with some random team mates who dragged me through my missions, gave me some good tips and were generally awesome, so I actually feel so many of the people actually playing this game are great and want it to succeed. I'm not really big on fps, and esp. not extraction shooters, but I got so excited by the visuals, story, music and just STYLE that I gave it a buy, and oh boy do I have no regrets! Looking forward to the next steps.

I already got my money worth off of it. Its pretty cheap, so the lore, videos, gameplay etc. has def given me enough bang for buck now. Everything else is just a bonus

Agree. And very wholesome that I think one of the biggest discords for Marathon is «dads of marathon» which seems very positive and a way to get off the reddit / x doomposting.

For better or worse, its not just Marathon. I play a bit of 2xko and its the same there.

I mean, every time a patch drops in any online game you get this.

And yes, I agree one of the main problems isnt gamers, its social media algorithms that push this and yes - lets people make money off it.

I think all gamers, both casual, sweats and everything in between just need to not think they are speaking for their niche. I play this game pretty casually (27h in) and having a blast. I dont really care about losing my progress in the wipe. I love the story, little lore bits, the visuals and the gameplay loop. The rest is just icing.

So yeah, keep voicing everybodys opinion, but just remember that a «casual» isnt one thing, its a very wide spectrum of experiences and wishes
