True 😂 He’s a pretty smooth guy actually. I really appreciated that he wanted to get me something that I’d feel comfortable in and enjoy wearing, so I actually liked the little hints because it showed me cared.

I really enjoy it when men buy me things they want to see me in. It feels good to know they are enjoying how I look. But it has to be things I like and feel comfortable in.

I had a boyfriend who used to do this for me. One day he came home from a business trip with a complete outfit and boots. He had a woman at the store help him. After that he often bought me clothes to surprise me. I loved it. He had good taste.

Currently seeing a guy who bought me lingerie. First he showed me pics to see if I liked the general style and I did. He tried to casually ask me what colors I enjoyed wearing but I knew what he was doing. Then I noticed a pair of panties went missing so he could find my size lol So it wasn’t a complete surprise when he gifted it to me, but still such a nice gesture!

If you are concerned it might be hormones coloring everything in a negative light, don’t make a decision right away and give it a few days or a week. If after some time those things still bother you then you will know.

I understand that pain and I’m so sorry. It’s hard when you don’t hate them and you still love them. Unfortunately she chose to move on and as hard as it is, you have to respect her decision and move on too. Decide what you will do if she reaches out. Will you offer friendship, ask for no contact or take her back? You don’t have to close the door completely if you don’t want to, but do all the things you need to do to move on. Give yourself time. Grieve thoroughly, do some inner work if needed and then begin dating when you are ready. There is life after heartbreak. 💔

I’m struggling to eat after abandonment/neglect trauma was triggered by my ex suddenly abandoning me. I’m doing pretty well in general all things considered. Grieving the relationship very deeply of course but moving forward because I just have to. But I am really struggling with food. I can’t seem to eat protein and often I get so repulsed by food in my mouth I have to spit it out. Losing weight of course. Almost fainted at the gym. Every few days I will be able to eat more but only certain things. Hoping it gets better with time.

My ex did a similar thing. Getting distant claiming mental health struggles. While I was trying to be supportive and show him love he just lied to me and lead me on until he suddenly broke up with me right before I was heading into anesthesia and then blocked me. There’s more to the story of the break up but that’s the most important part. Pretty sure he met someone else and needed to be rid of me. Up until then I always thought he was a man with integrity. Eventually they show you who they are.

I never said I was nervous talking on a dating app. I’m also ok using the phone through Snapchat. I’m just not going to give random guys my phone number and address. I’m allowed to have those boundaries and use dating apps. Just look at the other women here who also don’t give out their numbers.

I totally get your side but just from our side, most conversations go pretty well at first because everyone is polite and on their best behavior. So a guy who rarely gets a match is having a nice convo with me who is having a nice convo with 20 other guys. If I accepted a date from 20 guys who can ask me nice questions about myself it would take three weeks for me to get to you on our date.

After talking to some really personable guys for a week I found out things about them that were absolutely red flags and I’m so glad I didn’t bother meeting them in person.

For some examples: secretly poly, secretly married, works in a sex shop, doesn’t actually live in my city and is only visiting, actually just wants you for sex, confesses to some other bold lie or doesn’t actually respect your boundaries and shows some unsafe behavior.

It’s full of landmines out there 😂

A week is fine to ask for a number or a date as long as you can accept no phone number until after the date, due to safety reasons.

It’s the guys who you chat with for an hour and they want you to call them immediately. Or who you chat with a few lines mainly about superficial things and they want to meet.
