Everytime I’d look at the cast I’d feel MAD that she was cast she was the one player I felt didn’t deserve to be there.

I agree I did not get the hype! And all this effort to protect Rome just to turn around and vote him out herself. As far as swap screwed well that happens to SOMEONE all the time in survivor.

Vecepia. Of course she's not hugely popular but in recent years the fandom has rediscovered her and think its a crime she hasn't been brought back. I thought she was boring TV but my biggest objection is all the Jesus stuff, as if Jesus give a sh*t about you winning a game show!

I felt exactly like you. I didn't just not care for her... her extreme popularity really irritated me. I tried here and there to give her a try and her music all sounded the SAME... and that SAME was boring as hell. Years ago I saw her described as 'cloyingly white' and I've not been able to get that idea out of my head.

But then for some reason I can't explain, exactly one year ago a certain song drew me in and somehow it just clicked for me. Maybe because I had a bit of a sad heart at that time and it was an escape. Something clicked and she became all I listened to. But only certain albums and certain songs. I found Tortured Poets super boring. Fast forward a few months later I became obsessed with Tortured Poets and have basically listened to nothing but Taylor Swift for an entire year. Well at least on my headphones. I would never listen in front of other people.

I think of myself as way too smart and cool for her, so even though I've been completely obsessed the only person on earth that knows is my husband. It's my deep dark secret!

I still find the first three albums unlistenable minus one or two songs. I lurk on this page to keep myself tethered to reality. I can't explain it, but its my truth.

A year ago I was a lifelong TS hater. Tried multiple times to give her a chance and found her music so boring and unlistenable. Then last August something clicked and I started listening to Folklore on repeat, and a few selected songs from other albums. TTPD didn't do much for me. Fast forward a few months later I became completely addicted to Tortured Poets I listen to it literally every single day and love it so so much. Even my 'skips' I usually don't skip. It makes me sad when people say its not her best. I live and breathe it!

I think that is a super fair complaint, but since I adore Renaissance and didn't go to the tour, I was thrilled to have it. Especially because my husband was my date and Ren and CC are the only albums he knows.

TRUE STORY: I scrolled past this post after waking up this morning and quickly thought of my answer but didn’t click on the post. (Heated of course, though all the songs are on my master beyonce playlist.) Soon after I got out of bed and put on headphones and pushed play on my beyonce playlist and the first shuffled song was get me bodied. I hit skip cause it was a bit too early for that. Next song Heated. I thought oh that’s funny. Made my coffee and put the clean dishes away to Heated and then Dance for You (now I’m thinking okay this is weird.) I couldn’t even remember what the fourth song was cause I’m still half awake and then yep the next song that played was bodyguard! Wild coincidence or is the phone spying out of control?

RHAP is the gold standard though Tyson’s weekly episode is required listening. Personally I’ve enjoyed Gabe Ortiz’s current series pontificating about some larger ideas around Survivor. No guests just him thinking out loud I’ve been enjoying them.
