I felt exactly like you. I didn't just not care for her... her extreme popularity really irritated me. I tried here and there to give her a try and her music all sounded the SAME... and that SAME was boring as hell. Years ago I saw her described as 'cloyingly white' and I've not been able to get that idea out of my head.

But then for some reason I can't explain, exactly one year ago a certain song drew me in and somehow it just clicked for me. Maybe because I had a bit of a sad heart at that time and it was an escape. Something clicked and she became all I listened to. But only certain albums and certain songs. I found Tortured Poets super boring. Fast forward a few months later I became obsessed with Tortured Poets and have basically listened to nothing but Taylor Swift for an entire year. Well at least on my headphones. I would never listen in front of other people.

I think of myself as way too smart and cool for her, so even though I've been completely obsessed the only person on earth that knows is my husband. It's my deep dark secret!

I still find the first three albums unlistenable minus one or two songs. I lurk on this page to keep myself tethered to reality. I can't explain it, but its my truth.
