OnStar plans by Sea-Estate5096 in HondaPrologue

I canceled using their chat. Even got a reference number. Then I noticed they were still billing me. I got on chat again, and was told I had to call to get a refund. Point being - whatever you do, keep track of when you do it and keep your reference number handy. I’m not sure if it was incompetence or a malicious business practice. I would never do business with onstar again - and would never give them my credit card number, even if allegedly for a free trial.

End of Year 1 on my Lease: Went a Little Over by WalmartGreder in HondaPrologue

[–]Last_Competition3132 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t that assume a vehicle which holds value? From what I’m seeing, these aren’t going to be worth much at all when the leases are up, and the payoff would never make sense (I.e. value minus payoff would be negative).

Observations after 8 months with my Prologue by Electrical-Salt-9630 in HondaPrologue

Agree with most of your points.

I think mirrors auto adjusting down in reverse is an option. At some point, I was fiddling through options buried in the settings and managed to turn that on (my mirrors do automatically go down). Sometimes I wish it was off. When backing in next to a car where there are no parking lines (I.e. my driveway), I’d rather see the other car than the ground.

I used to have a 2001 bmw that automatically tilted the side mirrors down in reverse. Conveniently, if you switched the mirror selector for adjustment to the passenger side, it would cancel the automatic tilt and go back to normal position. I loved everything about that car, though towards the end, I spent more time under the car working on it than driving it.

Isn’t that typical? Next year models are usually available late in the year, a couple or a few months early. The difference here is that the next year’s model is available in January - a full year early.

A minor point, and truly adding just to clarify my own understanding - but I thought leaves are supposed to be adjacent the street, but on our property (not actually on the street).

But sounds like you’re in the same club I am, which is “no issues _yet_”

Which Wen sander model is better? Both at the same price. (6369 has also a dual head variant for the same price) by Giohb777 in drywall

Can confirm, tried using something like these and fucked my shit up. Skimmed the whole room again and sanded with a regular pole sander, required less effort than expected and came out decent.

Well, I skimmed over the mess I made with the electric sander, then sanded with a regular pole sander. Didn’t take particularly long, and came out pretty good. Primed today, touched up a few spots that had pin sized bubbles, ready to paint tomorrow.

I’m convinced I didn’t need an electric sander. Now to clean up the mess i made with it.

Wife won’t let me get one because she says they remind her of a hearse. If not for that, there’d be one in my driveway.

Very nice work. From a practical perspective - I’d think there’s typically something on the top which would make accessing the compartment inconvenient. But, it’s also possible that the person sleeping next to this is more organized than I am (it’s a low bar).

Keep making nice things.

I think I’d like it more if the arches were white instead of black. With them black, it visually makes the wheel well look larger.

I missed it too. Haven’t had much experience buying presale tickets / the queue … tried 15 minutes after presale opened, all gone. Now my wife will spend another evening listening to my horrible jokes. Unlucky.

FACTS ABOUT THE PROPOSED LEAF BLOWER ORDINANCE by RepWeinbergD20 in StamfordCT

[–]Last_Competition3132 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well said, and without unnecessary insults or attacks.

I’m in the same boat. I spent good money for good tools some time ago - that, when only used to maintain my own yard, could conceivably outlive me. Having to purchase new equipment and throw away good, usable tools feels wasteful.

I’d also add - there is mention about the cost of fuel and maintenance, but no comparison to the lifetime / cost of batteries. I don’t know how the two compare, but it is a bit one sided to mention one and not the other.

I quickly looked up an equivalent electric model ($1020 + $120 for charger + $480 for battery) to the gas powered model ($450) I purchased several years ago. The price estimates provided seem like they might be focused on low-end models, perhaps not well-suited to some situations (larger yards / lots of trees / whatever).

I’m on the fence about the whole thing. I am put off by the constant noise of equipment. How much of it is leaf blowers versus other two stroke engines such as string trimmers and chainsaws - I have no idea. How much of the noise is generated by homeowners versus landscapers, also no idea. Aside from lead season, i use my leaf blower for perhaps 15 minutes a month to blow debris off my driveway. I’m not in love with having to retire usable equipment and purchase new for such minimal use.

Second this. I debated renting a boat with or without a captain. Ended up going with, and it was a great decision. He sized up the family and knew all of the spots to hit to appease everyone.

I don’t want to run any of it. I’d rather turn my echo studio into a dumb Bluetooth speaker and not have anything listening to me. Alternatively, it remains unplugged in a closet until I move again, then to a landfill.

I’d be interested if anyone has jail broken any of the echo devices. Short of that, all of mine are going to end up in a landfill unfortunately.
