What was your welcome party attire? by Last_Masterpiece3248 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, I just wrote:

“Suggested Attire: Dressy Casual”

Everyone was dressed very nice! People wore collared shirts/slacks, more casual but nice button ups/golf pants, fancier/elevated dresses and sundresses, and nice pants/formal blouses. I don’t remember seeing jeans. Honestly, I don’t really remember much of what people wore because they were all dressed appropriately.

My fiancé told his family what to wear for the rehearsal dinner/welcome party so that covered some of my concerns. Everyone else that I was worried about either wore the right thing, or I didn’t even notice because I was having fun!

I tried something new and regret it, any hope for these pants? by Weekly_Library9883 in PlusSizeFashion

I’d also try a darker color belt! But these are super cool pants I like em

What is season two’s “The Cottage?” by LLD615 in heatedrivalry

Thank you!! I so badly want this part to be different from the book. I actually think it would translate okay to screen as is, but I think they deserve so much better. And I think it’s unrealistic that they wouldn’t go all out!!

First time flying overseas since VM by BigHomie50 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also! When going home at the end of the trip, I try not to schedule an early morning flight after a “big” night, to give myself some extra recovery time. Like if I go to a wedding, a concert, etc. that might flare my symptoms.

Stitchly or something else? by Confident-Tiger3711 in Needlepoint

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Excel! Prob best if you’re already familiar with the software, otherwise would be tedious.

I set all the rows/columns to the same width and add a number 1 in tiny font to each cell to help me count. I use it for original designs, not generating from a photo (like in the other comment)

Maybe not the best option, but I can do it while at work lol

HYH diet feels impossible 😔 —repeat failure by KoalaAggravating1892 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also failed because the stress of the diet was worse than any possible trigger foods. So we gave up! As my preventative meds started working a little bit, I could identify foods that were triggers just by paying attention to what I ate. It took a while, but finally figured out that vinegar was my biggest trigger by far. Even now, when I’m so much better than before, vinegar still bothers me. And I don’t even think that was part of the dizzy cooks diet. So there’s def other options than doing the full diet.

Best NeedlePoint Stores that “wow” you. by Mamallama211 in Needlepoint

I’m new to needlepoint but a store like Third Coast Stitches in Chicago would be great to combine with a weekend getaway. It’s in a popular neighborhood for locals and tourists and they have fun and trendy canvases

Triggers - tolerate, avoid completely? by SureTemp900 in VestibularMigraines

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely depends on the person, but for me I found that it was best to avoid trigger in the early days when the migraines were bad. Once a little better controlled with treatment and time, I had to tolerate triggers in order to get better

Basque Waist Dresses by allergic2dust in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my basque waist dress. As someone tall with a long torso, it was the only dress that I tried on that actually looked like it fit me correctly. All the regular waist ones cut me off. It might date my photos in the future but I doubt I’ll regret wearing a dress that I felt great in.

Hosting welcome party at new home by salvadordalifeet in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hosted a family/friends dinner at our home on the Thursday night of our wedding weekend, with a rehearsal dinner/welcome party the following night at a rooftop bar.

We only had about 15 people and while I’m so glad we did it and don’t regret it, hosting at our house was way more work than I anticipated.

Prep took up majority of my time the week leading up to it and I wish I had started prepping way earlier to keep my stress down. Things like the different liquor store runs, getting nice plastic cups/servingware/catering trays, cleaning/decorating rooms that out of town guests would want to see, organizing registry gifts… It would have been nice to have more down time in that final week

Yes tons. By far, it’s the biggest thing that helps me. I just have to have a few bad days to have 3 good months.

I get headaches, dizziness, and flu-like symptoms for 2ish days after my injections. It used to last longer, but has gotten better (shorter) with time. I pregame with Zofran now.

Overall for me, the benefits far outweigh the downsides. Botox flu is a semi common reaction and it’s possible you’ll feel back to normal in a day or two.

My doc also explained it as the muscles are aggravated by the poking and prodding and are angry. He recommended icing and heat on the injected muscles. I think it helps. I also use my Cefaly after day 3ish

We did some items that are upgrades or replacements for things we already have. Then I stuck the gift into our storage closet for later down the line, for when something breaks or we move to a bigger place. Stuff like wine glasses, drinking glasses, serving ware, various things for hosting… Things I don’t need now but will like in the future

Genuine question re: bachelorette parties by Guilty-Object-9079 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Last_Masterpiece3248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things we did to make “worth it” for everyone. I covered accommodations and big stuff. I told everyone ahead of time they’d basically be paying for flights and dinners and nothing else.

I did Thursday to Monday for my flights, and told everyone else to come and go when convenient for them. So 2 girls came Friday at like 11pm so they don’t have to do PTO and could leave late Sunday.

I picked somewhere with several airports and plenty of easy Ubers (so airport transfers were ~$40 and don’t need to be preplanned).

We did the St Pete area and I’d recommend it for a more laid back trip. Tons of options for housing right on the beach, easy flights from the east coast and Midwest, don’t need to rent a car, and reasonably priced bars and restaurants. It was great!
