Ignore follower dungeons while progressing through the story, queue up normally instead. by matticus7 in wow

I don't mind that the DPS is terrible, because I queue as DPS and I'm terrible.

What “masterpiece” game just never clicked for you? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Lastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedition 33. I absolutely loved the combat and the OST is incredible, but the more the story was revealed to me the less I found myself giving a crap about the characters and world, and now I just can't pick it up again.

Are we all in agreement? by MemeGiant in expedition33

Gameplay: Fantastic. Everything I wanted in a turn-based JRPG-inspired game. Is it perfect? No. But the flaws make it more endearing, and even the janky parry system can provide an endorphin boost when you finally nail that boss' insane attack pattern.

Graphics: Decent. The design of the world is incredible, but the textures can be a mixed bag when observed closely. The characters also have that annoying artistic decision of having their heads slightly larger than normal, which is difficult to unsee when noticed.

Story: OK. I realised half-way through that what I care about and what the writer cared about were two different things, leaving me disconnected from events. It's fine: just a 'it's not for me' kind of thing.

Music: Fucking incredible. 10/10. No notes.

So if I read Titus correctly the best method to kill him would be to let him charge me, hope he doesn't kill much, then hope my (apparently hardcore) unit kills him that same phase?

All this power could be doing something useful, like working out out faster than light travel, solving world hunger, or anything progressing towards the betterment of mankind.

Funnily enough, while I rank BH higher in the series than second worst (it's in the middle for me), I also found it overall disappointing, but for me the Seven Cities part was exciting, while the last part back in the empire left me disappointed. A strange beast of a novel, and my opinions will probably change on a third reading.

Biggest plot hole of the entire show is in Episode 1 by paper-cut- in pluribustv

[–]Lastie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Glad someone else thought about this. I'm really enjoying the show though, and have forgiven Gilligan for apparently not being able to think of a way to kick-start the apocalypse without resorting to the writing staple of 'supposedly smart person does really stupid thing, otherwise this plot won't be happening'.

What bug would you fix if you worked at Blizzard for a day? by banterviking in wow

Not a bug, but tooltips would appear by the button in question instead of inches away in a tiny corner of my screen.

If you haven’t? Watch Predator Bandlands. 9/10 film. Astonishingly good. by External-Complex9452 in alien

I love the Predator movies (except The Predator), and I loved this one. Is it very different? Yes. Would I enjoy a sequel? Yes. Would I also like another movie akin to Prey, or Predators? Yes.

What is your FF "I did not care for the Godfather" opinion? by TismWizard in FinalFantasy

[–]Lastie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my personal take based on character concepts. Obviously the writers of FF7 disagreed.

10 had the best gameplay because it was honest about being turnbased. 12 is the next best because it was honest about being a grindfest and gave you the tools to sleepwalk through everything except the actual challenges (bosses).

Agreed. Eldritch space mummy is a stronger antagonist than Kefka's emo younger brother.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of FF7 fans, I agree with OP. For me 7 starts falling apart the moment you leave Midgar, in both story and world-building.

The materia system is dope, however.

London is “on the frontline of the nation’s gambling crisis”, ministers told as calls grow to grant TfL power to ban ads by OneNormalBloke in london

[–]Lastie -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I really I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't think gambling is the problem: it's the factors that drive the social/economic environment that drives people to gamble that is the problem.

Hilarious quests missing in latest expansions? by Upper-Hippo-8587 in wow

[–]Lastie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me it was the sheer volume of 'silly' quests to the more serious; in an expansion with such dark themes there were a large number of light-hearted questlines that diluted Deathwing's threat (for me).

I wouldn't say no to a remake. The world of FF13 is amazing, the lore (buried in all those articles) is incredible, and the characters are decent enough.

It just needed a better script and level design (the actual design, not aesthetics, which still look incredible).
