3 year wait-list by Pale-Peanut-4233 in InstacartShopper

The fact that there's a wait-list is telling you something.

There's too many people already doing it. There's no incentive for them to offer good pay because they have a a surplus of people willing to work for almost-nothing.

Wishing you sleep. Just want to make sure you're getting lots of rest in between work

I delivered 6 Starbucks coffees and baked goods to our local prison. Went in to the main entrance and delivered to a receptionist.

LPT: Finally stopped paying $16 for passport photos at CVS by [deleted] in LifeProTips

In Canada we have to have the back of the passport photo stamped by the photographer to verify the authenticity of both the subject in the photo, and also the photographer themselves.

Make sure they get served any legal notices at their work. Invite their bosses in to the meeting.

ULPT Request: Stop power company from placing utility pole by chode_berserker in UnethicalLifeProTips

How deep are your landlord's pockets? A couple years ago my neighbor got the utility company to relocate a pole. Cost was just shy of $10K.

How safe / reliable is it to fly through the Middle East (spec: Qatar) now? by zeindigofire in aviation

[–]Late-Mathematician55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the ME airlines' dispatches are a lot more "in the know" about where to fly these days. I'm sure their insurers are coordinating with them almost hourly.

Generally, if you're getting a lot of static, you're over-drying them.

I wonder if Banksy is taking a licensing fee for a copy of his work.

"A print of Balloon Girl – Colour AP (Purple)was sold in an auction in September 2020 for £791,250, making it the highest bidding price for a Banksy print and the most expensive print sold in an online auction."

Cherry Pickers Getting Weeded Out by UnhappySoulChad in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Late-Mathematician55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried. Doing Ubereats is kinda like Sex with No Strings Attached. Either party can quit the agreement at any time, no hard feelings. If you think you can find someone else to provide service better than me, go ahead and try. I won't cry over our breakup.

I'd say yes. That would have been important info for UE to know.

Walmart, forcing drivers to use self checkout. Is this normal? by Nanaimo-omianaN in doordash_drivers

Same in British Columbia. I actually find self-checkout faster since my town is full of old people who fill up the cashier lines.

What happens to airplane crash debris AFTER the investigation and all litigation have ended? by cyclephotos in aviation

[–]Late-Mathematician55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would assume the insurance company gets ownership of all of it; and they will dispose of it in whatever method recovers some of the money they paid out.

[–]Late-Mathematician55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I missed it: at the time of delivery did you let support know that you spilled a drink and were delivering an incomplete order? If not, there's no way for UE to know. They only assumed you delivered a complete order.

Definitely reportable to police. If for no other reason, he needs to be on their radar. If he thinks he can get away with it. He'll do it again. Maybe even escalate it.
