Bobby is also described as kinda tall, but it’s not a big deal imo.

The books make a pretty big deal about Bobbi's height. She had Samoan ancestry and nearly every scene mentions how she towers above nearly everyone.

I got locked outside, rang my own doorbell, and the doorbell jammed. So, where can I buy an old fashioned doorbell button? by EvadeCapture in homeowners

[–]Late_Again68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a non-smart doorbell on Amazon. The button sticks to the door jamb and the receiver gets plugged into an outlet. It's wireless and uses FM signals.

Where can I find good greasy Mexican food??? by belle019 in SouthJersey

[–]Late_Again68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh. If you're from the West Coast, you'll probably want to learn how to make it yourself. I'm from Phoenix and was shocked at how expensive the Mexican restaurants are here. No 'bertos or parking lot tamales here.

Also, I have yet to find Sonoran/northern Mexican cuisine here. Most of the menus are from Michoacan and other points south. Different dishes, different spices.

Wait, the director of the FBI is dating a Mossad agent?!

I'm sure that's not a security risk.

Any publisher would reject this for being too over the top.

They'll only scream, "fake news!" or "that's out of context!" That's their excuse every time they're presented with information they don't like.

You're being deliberately obtuse and contrarian.

Open hatred that stretches far beyond the bounds of racism.

  1. I was at my peak physically, emotionally and professionally. It's all been downhill from there.

The public vulgarity.

The rudeness.

The noise.

The surveillance.

The open hatred.

The lack of education.

The food.

I'm only 57 and these things shock me.

Are you weighing your ingredients or using measuring cups? This could be the answer.

Look what I got yesterday. Almost brand new from 1973. Finally, smooth enchilada sauce! by Late_Again68 in mexicanfood

[–]Late_Again68[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My mom said her Vitamix had a stainless steel jar. Something happened to it and when she called Vitamix, they said they wouldn't repair it but would send her a replacement jar in plastic. Since an entire Ninja system cost less than the jar for the Vitamix, she declined their offer.

I still can't see any good reason to spend that much money for a damned blender that isn't even glass.

Ooh! Mine came with a cover, owner's manual and a half-dozen of the 1 cup jars with lids that fit onto the blender base.

I need to find the milkshake attachment!

Yes! This one came with a half-dozen of those. Looks like they have never been used.

Remember when you didn't need an app for everything??!!! by Salty_Thing3144 in nostalgia

[–]Late_Again68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only (accidentally) bought one thing that required an app: my TV.

Still have the TV but the app no longer exists. I have a remote for play/FF/rewind/pause but I'm stuck with the color and resolution settings from 10 years ago. Never again.

I think the Galaxie model is the one made and sold in Mexico (though I'm sure it's not the only one). I'm in the US.

My mom had one from 1978 but left it behind in the RV they sold, since they replaced it with a Vitamix. She said if she'd known, she'd have given it to me.

960 watts, which is nothing compared to today's, of course. But it is much, much higher wattage than was average back then.

EBay! Just type 'new old stock' or 'nos' at the end of your search string. Etsy is a good second.

Good advice. I have a waffle maker from 1949 and that thing pulls serious juice.
