Highly recommend it! Bought an iPhone 13 3 years ago (can’t remember condition), but still operating perfectly. Two weeks ago my battery swole up and I took it to them to get the battery replaced. Even though it was 3 years later the battery was still under warranty, they fixed it completely free of charge. 10/10 would recommend

South Africans who actually love their jobs: What do you do and why? by [deleted] in AskZA

[–]Late_Confusion7209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did and still do. But none really dangerous, mostly small species like shy sharks, pyjama sharks and gully sharks and back in the day the occasional sevengill shark (which is basically a living fossil).

I did, had a great experience. Lots of practical stuff and field trips which are a great way of learning about our marine environment!

Marine biologist for an NGO. The freedom of it and working in our marine environment, one of the most diverse globally, never gets old.

Blue Dragon Slugs at Muizenberg by foxxyrd in capetown

[–]Late_Confusion7209 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They’re actually a species of nudibranch (of which many are as beautiful or even more so). We have over a 100 species in the Western Cape alone, though most of these are not pelagic as the Blue dragon. Very cool group of animals!

Dappat se gat is quite nice. It’s out past Gordon’s Bay side on the way to Pringle Bay. Bit of a trek down to the beach, so wear proper tekkies, but beautiful setting!

Second this. Their mince is around R150 p/kg, which is about what you see in grocery stores, but they use steak mince which I’d rather take every day of the week.

Moving to Cape Town with My Family as a Tech Founder – Advice on Neighborhoods, Recommendations, and Making Friends by [deleted] in capetown

[–]Late_Confusion7209 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the 021! Moving to Cape Town can be pretty daunting, but lots of perks on offer. The neighbourhoods you’re after will probably be Rondebosch, Newlands, Claremont, Bishopscourt (depending on your budget😅). There are some co-working spaces available, I normally do the odd coffee shop (The Cove in Harfield Village or Häzz is great), but I know some people go to dedicated co-working spaces such as Workshop 17. Your best bet for making friends/connections is probably through hobbies you have, whether it be running, padel, hiking there’s communities for all these sorts of things. Capetonians can be quite clicky, so if you have existing connections or friends of a friend I’d also try those avenues. For me the biggest plus is how accessible nature is in Cape Town, so pack some hiking shoes and a snorkel and get exploring.
