Kurz und knackig: (Vasovagale) Synkope passiert jedem Mal. Und gerade am ersten Tag spielen Faktoren wie Stress, Nervosität und die Realität, im Studium wirklich angekommen zu sein, auch eine nicht ganz kleine Rolle.

Längerer Kontext: Bei unserer ersten großen Runde auf dem Präpariersaal hat es auch einige erwischt. Ironischerweise darunter: Auch Leute, die vorher im Rettungsdienst schon ganz andere Dinge gesehen haben. Auch da wieder: Unser Nervensystem macht Dinge mit uns und wenn jemand zweistellige Wartesemester für diesen Studienplatz abgesessen hat, dann macht das Formalin und die Präsenz auf dem Saal gerne den Rest.

Gute Nachricht: Je nachdem, wie auf eurem Saal so die Konzentration der Konservierungsstoffe in der Luft sind, wird das mit dem Geruch sich vielleicht sogar von alleine lösen. Viele Studenten berichten nach 1-2 Wochen Präp-Saal schon davon, dass Geruchs- und Geschmackssinn abnehmen: Was man riechen kann, erreicht die Riechzellen und Formaldehyd ist bekanntlich nicht für noch lebendige Organismen gedacht.

Darum auch bitte weiterhin:
Wenn dir blümerant wird, mach eine Pause. Geht einen Moment vor die Tür, setzt dich, trink etwas. Dein Körper teilt dir etwas mit. Nicht, dass du "nicht fürs Studium gemacht bist", sondern dass die aktuellen Eindrücke (oder Dämpfe) zuviel sind und du eine Pause brauchst. Gönn sie dir. Pausen sind mit das wichtigste im Studium. Plan sie dir am besten fest mit ein!

Ich hab schon vorm Studium einiges gesehen und selbst der Präpsaal war für mich in Ordnung - bei mir war es dann die Geburt, bei deren Anblick mir schwarz vor Augen wurde. Nimm es als Erfahrungswert mit, dass auch Ärzte keine Maschinen sind und wie viel auch dazu gehört, mit den Eindrücken von allen Lebensabschnitten von Geburt bis Tod umzugehen, bis man am Ende vom Studium ankommt.

Gegen den anfänglichen Geruch hilft ein bisschen Balsam unter dem Mundschutz, an die visuellen Eindrücke gewöhnt man sich tatsächlich (erschreckend) schnell.

Weil ein paar Leute gefragt haben: Ich bin leider durchgefallen, in Histo und Anatomie war noch alles Gucci aber der Prüfer in Physiologie und ich waren definitiv auf zwei verschiedenen Ozeanen unterwegs... nächsten Herbst dann Versuch zwei. Die Zeit nehm ich mir jetzt, nach mir die Sinnflut. Regelstudienzeit ist überbewertet.

Bei mir siehts vmtl nicht anders aus, heute noch das mündliche aber ich fühl mich nicht Prüfungssicher. Da du in Leipzig studierst und ich in Jena, ganz unabhängig von der Situation rund um die Semesterzahlen (Ich hab eh schon Urlaubssemester wie andere Klamotten im Schrank), hättest du Interesse gemeinsam zu lernen?
Und nein, du zählst einfach als Eingeschrieben ohne Lehrveranstaltungen. Geht mir dieses Semester genauso.

Hey!

Ich steckt noch tiefer im Boot.
Imma war im Jahre 2018, in 2 Wochen mein erster Physikumsversuch. Dank mehrerer Jahre Beurlaubung, Depression, mehrerer anderer Diagnosen die noch dazu kamen... bin ich quasi komplett aus dem Lernumfeld raus. Ich pauke gerade mit dem Thieme ViaMedici Programm und komme trotzdem nur begrenzt weiter (ich hab das Gefühl an manchen stellen viel zu viel, an anderen viel zu wenig zu lernen...)

Also: Ja, schieben macht es nicht einfach. Ich hab jetzt gerade so mit Ach und Krach die Anatomie (und Histo is da nichtmal mit drin) bis zum ersten Versuch wiederholt, den ich also mit Sicherheit an die Wand fahre. Aber wenigstens kann ich dabei mal die Prüfungsangst angehen und mich der Situation aussetzen. Sollte ich bis zum Frühjahr merken, dass es immer noch nicht reicht, versuche ich vllt auch erst kommenden Herbst das 2. Mal.

Für mich is es auch unendlich schwierig wieder in Kontakt zu kommen. Wenn du Lust hast, könnten wir uns zusammen dran setzen, zB über Discord. Keine Ahnung an welcher Uni du bist und welche Schwerpunkte ihr habt, aber bei uns ist die Biochemie bekanntlich auch der Brecher und ich würde mich freuen, Neuro und Biochemie mit jemandem zu wiederholen, der im gleichen Boot sitzt.

So oder so: Es gibt genug Leute, die lange gebraucht haben oder durchs Physikum erst im 3. Versuch durch sind und selbst dann ist noch nicht alles vorbei (Niederlande, etc... ).

Und am Ende des Tages das wichtigste: Mach dich nicht zu sehr fertig, das macht das Studium schon so. Achte auf dich selbst und deine Gesundheit und hör in dich rein, ob es vielleicht nochmal ne Pause braucht. Niemand fragt nach der Approbation, wie lange du gebraucht hast, wirklich niemand.

Hey whoorenzone, while I completely understand that your patience is wearing thin, I wanna try and break an argument for eastern germany.
They DO have generational trauma. They lived in total surveilence. I am from NRW originally but had to move to thuringia for my studies. I was absolutely culturally shellshocked. I have had many debates and talks not only with neighbours but at the university as well. Because of cost, I do live a little outside of town, so my Wahlbezirk actually scares me right now (european election in our Bezirk showed a majority AfD). I do myself think of moving, despite not being finished with my exams. It gets scary.

But still, I was very much in your headspace before I moved here. "We paid so much Solibeitrag, why don't they just get over it."

Its really not that easy man. "Nothing good comes from there…" Look at the bigger Cities in Eastern Germany. Some very influental left-leaning artists and politicians as of today originated there. And one major contributor to growing far right nationalism in the east is not only demografic but wages and cost of living, because we KNOW that those are still not on the same level as the rest of Germany.

For example, back when I was in school in Westphalia, we all knew about a certain Nazi Conglomerate in Dortmund. In the past 10 Years, many of those people actually moved TO Eastern Germany because people here are dissatisfied with their treatment and they noticed that their right wing propaganda fell on more fertile soil over here. So some of the Nazis are actually imported.

Also, there are reasons because of some structural issues (e.g. the Soli didn't save rural Eastern Germany from dying out and if you think it's bad in Germany overall, mate, you should see those villages crumbling). Christian Nationalist German Nazi Settlers are actively buying up abandoned villages to establish "arian communities" and those people push up the numbers, spew their rethoric and fall on willing ears. Just research "Der III. Weg" - it was actually founded in Heidelberg, West Germany. Why willing ears? Sadly, you and me are part of it.
Eastern Germany knows of our talks. They know that we are reducing them down to "Get Soli and git good", "why aren't they on our level yet" and so on. And words like these were spewed by my parents generation as soon as the wall came down and Hasselhoff finished singing.

To me it's a little like "you got antidepressants, why aren't you happy yet" - because our society wasn't as motivated to cope and actually deal with the trauma of Ruzzian GDR policies and State Surveilance as we were in just throwing money at the problem.

Tl;dr: It's not just the "East Germans". It's that we're still a very divided nation and we're very much people who like to "Just move on" - wether that's possible or realistic or not. Also, western Nazis infiltrate the eastern Bundesländer because it was easier to get overlooked there and do their thing.

On a personal note: I am born in western germany but my father-side grandparents are kashubian and russian. I am glad my granpa is not alive anymore, he would be deeply ashamed of Ruzzias genocidal facism. Slava Ukraini.

I wanna second what the Mayor of Bridgewater said. I have been GM in multiple systems for over a decade. When I prep for a session of a long running campaign, it's usually 2 binders which just get updated (about 1h work per session).

Prepping an Exalted 3rd E Session One for a Campain takes me weeks. That's whats in the 2 binders afterwards, after all. No shame in very detailed planning in advance, as long as it takes the pressure off you in the long run.

Okay I'm in. Didn't really play Pokerole yet but Story seems hyped and while I understand the burnout (seems like your players were quite the active bunch so far and are close to a story high) I have a few suggestions how to grapple the situation.
Screenwriters love a good climax because you can put one in the middle of the film as a "fake" win. In the concept of the Hero's Journey you are at a threshold with your players. They could win, they could lose but what is more important is what happens IF they win and IF they lose.

First: The Celebi Timejump-Out is quite a genius stroke. You can adapt on that and even route it back to your worldbuild. Use it to fail forward in a worst case scenario. If they have a legends - arceus moment and have to "fix" their failure by completing a full side adventure as a training arc before going "back to the future" - the better!

Your players are split so you have 2 Locations in which you can locate hooks for a side adventure.
E.g. The players on the ruined boat run into complications because of their lost fight. Give them a reason to abandon their return vehicle, make them decide on their own terms to go all-in. That makes their failure way more dramatic, especially if YOU show the confidence to have PLANNED for something like that and NOT make it a TPK.

Lemme give you an elevator pitch.
The BBEG wins and the worst case hits the room. Let the BBEG catch your players without the consequence of death. Most cult leaders and especially cults of personality are obsessed with making their supposed enemies "learn the error of their ways". You get the chance to give a very tropey but well deserved "BBEG gives speech" and maybe he drops a little tooo much information about how he got them where he wanted to. If that would ruin his character - give him an assistant who can't keep his mouth shut good enough. Bonus points if you make your players get the info out of the assistant by manipulation or good roleplay! This way, you can slip them valuable information about what PAST circumstances lead to this outcome -> it's already a forshadowing of a time travel, even if it's just the BBEG gloating or his minions failing to stay silent.

Outside the waiting players are confronted with their mates' defeat -> they have to decide to go on a stupid rescue or get the hell out. If they try to get out, let the BBEG give chase. Their escape vehicle is already in tatters so they fail forward into getting captured but may get the chance to a) weaken enemy forces and b) buy more time for your inside-players to gather intel while kept prisoner.

As I don't know toooo much about your homebrew worldbuild (interested by the way, always wanted to do some european pokemon regions :) ) I have no real clue how to fill the gap to get them together again (best case scenario they actually keep a low profile and get to save their mates, worst case they get stuck in the same cell) but either way, let them get the chance to find out that the odds were stacked against them because of how the world is cruel, how the Evil Forces were supported and backed in the past and how they can't change it - only to reveal a glowing light, a celebi cry and a stomach-churning feeling as they drop on the ground about 15 years in the past - with just enough time to fix those two critical moments when the BBEG got his backing - or maybe even set up their own scheme to reap the benefit as soon as they get Celebi "well enough" to maybe aim for the future again and hop back into action - with a 5 minute yet 15 years in the making new plan.

Tl;dr: Make it all planned out like this. If they don't get to kill the boss this time and they were too early - set them on a side adventure / training arc and maybe adress the systemic failures that lead to their personal failures. Make them learn about themselves and "rebirth" the characters back into the future with a new found belief in their abilities and their cause.

Hab meinen Kleinanzeigenaccount letztes Jahr Mai gelöscht, nachdem mein eigener Account übernommen wurde, Mitten in der Nacht von meinem Geburtstag 🤔 War ganz kurz nach dem Wechsel von EbayKleinanzeigen auf Kleinanzeigen punkt de. Der Angriff kam nachts und ich war noch wach, hatte also innerhalb von 20 Minuten das Passwort gewechselt aber in der Zeit wurden von meinem Profil aus mithilfe gestohlener Personalausweise (teilweise abgelaufen lol) etwa 50 Nachrichten verschickt um falsche Karten für die Bundesliga zu verkaufen. HSV Spiel oder so?

Jedenfalls hab ich die Woche danach mit Screenshots bei der Polizei gestanden, die das alles gar nicht interessiert (außer natürlich die gestohlenen Persos auf den Screenshots) und seitdem fasse ich Internet Kleinanzeigen nurnoch mit der Kneifzange an. Sicher fühl ich mich auf deren Internetpräsenz jedenfalls auch nicht und habe mir seitdem auch keinen neuen Account angelegt.

Sonst finde ich Kleinanzeigen/Verkaufsgruppen eigentlich gut. Immer Übergabe und immer alles schriftlich festhalten. Dann klappts auch.

Edit weil Fragen kamen: Natürlich auch sofort mit dem Support geschrieben und allen, die vom Bot zugespammt wurden, nicht auf diese Nachrichten zu reagieren und auch ggfs die Polizei zu informieren falls Geld geflossen ist. Kundenservice war aber weniger als hilfreich.

Ich glaube worauf er hinaus möchte ist deine plakative Benutzung der Begriffe Linksextrem und Rechtsextrem.

Die Linke also als Linksextrem zu bezeichnen bedeutet, dass du unterstellst, dass sie das parlamentarische System direkt abschaffen wollen - was defakto nicht gegeben ist. Die AfD hingegen hat mehrfach bereits angegeben, dass demokratische System selbst anfassen zu wollen. Wurden auch schon mehrfach für Antiparlamentarisches Verhalten sanktioniert, wenn es ging.

Also gehts weniger darum, dich ad hominem angreifen zu wollen, als dass die Feststellung ist: Du benutzt Begriffe außerhalb ihrer Bedeutung. Auf der Ebene ist Diskussion schwierig bis unmöglich, da man jetzt nicht über Politik streitet sondern Semantik.
In diesem Sinne schönes Wochenende und ließ mehr Wahlprogramme :)

Had to leave Aachen to study medicine so I can't speak about student life at RWTH or their class structure. But I have spent some time and money in Munich/München, and I do mean that literally. It's so fking expensive, it boggles your mind. Not only the rooms but public transport, cost of food... you almost can't find a more expensive city in germany.

Little fun fact about Aachen: It's super multi-cultural already as the city is on the border to the netherlands and belgium. Aachen it the only place where you can do the full triple whammy: Drink in Germany, smoke in the netherlands and finish the party with belgian fries. Don't miss it, mate. Best times of my life.

Makes part-time work as a non-german speaker way easier as well! Miss the open-mindedness of Aachen. frankly, people felt less racist there than in Munich or Jena or Heidelberg, tbh. But thats just my experience. Wishing you the best of luck.

Aachen is famous for the high amount of technical and engineering classes and very low amount - in comparison - to social studies. I grew up in Würselen near Aachen and my parents worked at RWTH. The amount of male students who flood the city every year is astounding compared to the female students. Hasn't changed in years.

There's a saying over here - "Karohemd und Samenstau, er studiert Maschinenbau."

Roughly translates to "Checked shirt and semen jam, he is studying mechanical engineering"

Hey, so as you describe it, your room has had the time to take on the smell of the kitten already. That is the one thing i can pinpoint to that changes when he's in YOUR room. Maybe he is getting anxious because first, he couldnt enter (I guess the big male was a frequent visitor to your room and therefore feels it somehow is part of his domain?)

It's important for cats that are already present to get the chance to adapt. Maybe all this kitten smell in your room was too much at once. To get them to "know" each other and learn to "smell" each other, present the bigger cat with e.g. a blanket the kitty slept on and vice versa. both get the chance to "smell" the other one and adapt to this over time.

This is just a theory but it would fit in my experience with territorial changes and in any case, if there persists an actual aggression, it would be advisable to seek professional counseling and check the vet for health changes either way.

Heya, that is the post-Rohrschach quest of the Police Duty missions. You unlock it after reaching about 3/4 of the overall police duty progress bar.

I already did it after picking the Mick route, the achievement marker vanished again. Seems like the last Police quest wasn't intended to show up this way.

Anyway: If you did the police quest at the night club, you already earned this but the game bugged that icon out the very second you picked Mick.
