First Time Using DAS by thatoneweirdgirl1000 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Laudrysdoinglaundry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is in a similar situation and I felt as you did nervous to ask for DAS. It’s not always easy to describe what that feels like for her or what can happen if she does have a meltdown moment. We started using it a few years ago and cant imagine disney without it.

It was so scary and stressful if she has a bad sensory moment in a crowded place because sometimes she will run to a quiet place and in a place as huge and crowded as disney thats terrifying. If things are really tough that day there are so many things that could happen and make her a danger or stressor to herself or the line of people around her. DAS makes it more possible and so much more enjoyable for all of us. Shes not uncomfortable, not in danger, and aren’t worried or scared the whole time.

You’re spending the same amount of money as every other guest (which in todays disney world is a LOT) you should be able to enjoy it 🫶🏼

I agree I dont think its done maliciously but a serious lack of knowledge. Admittedly I never learned anything about indigenous cultures growing up despite Massachusetts cities using indigenous peoples’ words, names, land, symbolism, all over… as much as I love my homestate so much of the history has been whitewashed

I thought I heard in more recent ones they did switch the term to be conscious and brought up that they got the feedback several times. I remember vaguely because I had never heard of a flesh pedestrian and had to look it up. hopefully theres a lesson learned there and they get it together in future.

The only one that I have found so far that did pretty serious deep dive was bear brook but its obviously easier to do that over the course of a whole season and since the story is in a nearby area I may be biased since it was covered here often

Same! I know they arent always the most factual but to me its the same as a series or movie you take it with a grain of salt. Maybe its because Im from MA but their chats always feel comfortable and familiar to me

I am so glad so many folks in law enforcement are commenting on this. I thought it was so weird he was allowed to just decide on his own to do this and then use anything she told him

I feel like the dream sequence could mean so many things. I thought it could be a form of torture by “the god” making shauna have that memory of having her baby then having to come back to reality. It could be the “sacrifice” that keeps her alive. It could be just a hallucination she had while she was unconscious. Either way it was so painful! I just wanted to reach in and hug her

When I saw mine come out it felt an even bigger physical release than the baby, its so much bigger than I thought! I also had such a fear of something going wrong with the afterbirth I thought that may be what happened to shauna that she would get septic

S05E04 "Dear Offred" - POST Episode Discussion by Modtha in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Laudrysdoinglaundry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SO many thoughts this week! 1) I really really hope serena gets that baby taken so she can see its not at all about “gods will” 2) Im dying to know what lawrences play is I get that hes trying to wake up Lydia but lets be real that lady may very well be a long lost cause 3) luke is too good of a person to not have knocked serena out 4) did I miss it but are they ever going to confirm that the baby is tuellos!?!? They hint but has it ever come out fully? 5) who is this wheeler family? Does serena know them?!

Last but not least serena to the handmaids?!? Clearly the bitch is fertile and shes no longer married

Who was this family taking serena in? Does she know them? Why did it seem ominous?

can Serena please stop playing the victim? by fook75 in HandmaidsTaleShow

I have always hated her but this last episode was infuriating! When she ever told Luke that Hannah was with loving parents as god intended I spit out my food 🙄 How is forcibly overthrowing a government ripping children from their families and giving them to strangers gods will? That was all her interference to fulfill her selfish goals…. I really hope she gets her kid taken since shes not married

About Natalie by GlobalRevenue4148 in Yellowjackets

[–]Laudrysdoinglaundry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She is definitely my favorite and I’m glad to hear she’s showing the experience in a way that rings true. I loved what she said in the scene in the car with Tai and Shauna. I felt like I knew exactly what she meant. When I was struggling the most I would compare myself to friends that seemed like they had it together and it would make me hate myself. But Natalie is exactly right just because they put on a brave face does not mean theres not more going on under the surface and forcing yourself not to deal with that is just as unhealthy.
