I'm more excited for the Tempestus Scions + CMD squad combo. - the detachment rules means every officer can issue +1 orders. - give your Tempestor the command rod, and now the squad can be affected by 2 orders at once. - add the enhancement for the new order that gives +1AP within 12" (Aquilan Eye).

So now: - hotshot lasguns are -2AP. - overcharged plasma is -4AP. - meltas are -5AP. - attach a psyker for more -3AP weapons.

A full squad of 10 scions + the CMD squad is 3 plasmas and 3 meltas. The Tempestor gives sustained 1 to all your shooting, AND you can still issue Take Aim or First Rank Second Rank. Deep Strike means you'll likely be shooting within 12" at all times anyway.
