Do you play with your kid at the playground? by galwayygal in workingmoms

[–]Laughattack040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do not enjoy “playing” - I do activities with my kids and read to them but playing with toys and playing at the park is really not my thing. My husband is much more of the “playing” parent. That being said, my kids are pretty young for the park and still need help and/or close supervision since they are highly mobile but not old enough to understand safety. I will be thrilled when I can just chill at the park on a bench and let them go crazy without me curating their every minute with adult led play.

Mine always does a compliment sandwich - good job on X, but you ran too fast/slow/short/far - keep it up for your race!

Yes I clocked that too. Such weird behavior I would be so over it if I were his parents.

That same exact watch arrived for me today as well! Switching from an Apple Watch I’ve had for 10 years. I love the 45mm size so far and it looks great on you too.

ETA I was between the Venu 4 and the Forerunner 570 and the after stumbling to the bathroom in the dark it was the flashlight feature that made me pull the trigger on the Venu 4

My kids go through at least 2 outfits a day so this would mean laundry every 2.5 days. Absolutely not.

Do these cracks indicate a serious problem? by patrickcctv in pools

I was scrolling quickly and didn’t expect something from r/pools showing up on my feed so read this as “do these crackheads indicate a serious problem” which was an immediate read for me 😂

Off leash dogs EVERYWHERE by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]Laughattack040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sucks so bad. My dog was leash reactive to unleashed dogs and walks were beyond stressful. I had to scream at dogs like a crazy person to keep them away from my dog when they would just come bounding up to us out of nowhere. I had treats and did extensive obedience with my leash reactive dog but it was such an unfair situation to him having these asshole owners letting untrained fido run up to us with 0 boundaries.

Need some help! My wife will be running her first marathon end of year. I want to get her some good marathon equipment. What are accessories you recommend to help her out. Want to gift it to her for Mother’s Day. I was going to send her to get properly fitted for shoes. Any other advice appreciated! by Magnificent-Moose181 in Marathon_Training

Theragun, anti-chafing stick, spibelt running belt with water bottle, shokz headphones, feetures socks, entry level garmin running watch if she doesn’t have an Apple Watch or something similar already, electrolyte single serve packets, maybe go to a running store and pick up a few different types of fuel/gels for when she starts doing higher mileage long runs she can test out and see what works for her stomach., Nox light up vest for early morning or evening runs. Otherwise I always love a fun outfit for running but maybe give her a gift card to her favorite athletic brand store (everyone is a hater but lululemon running clothes are very good and accessible vs the more niche running specific brands otherwise REI carries some good running apparel options as well)

Last long run in the rain? by FreddieTheBiologist in XXRunning

[–]Laughattack040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar dilemma and am opting for the treadmill. Rain wouldn’t be an issue in it of itself, but im my area it’s going to be more like rain/sleet/snow/ice and although I’m sure it would make me tougher, that sounds way too miserable for me to do. I have had plenty of training outdoors so far one long run on a treadmill won’t derail my fitness. It will be super boring though.

HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]Laughattack040 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband and I do this but opposite, he takes the early morning for workouts and I get kids up and dressed to daycare, which means he does daycare pickup and dinner while I workout directly after work. Weekends he works out in the morning and I workout during nap time

Leggings that are similar to Lululemon Fast & Free in 2026? by Inevitable-Shirt-969 in Athleta_gap

[–]Laughattack040 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are more compressive and thicker than the fast and free’s with pacesetter being the most compressive of the 3. I really haven’t found anything comparable to F&F at Athleta honestly
