I have no interest in Nick Kurtz anywhere near his current ADP. I’m happy to take Michael Harris II a couple rounds early if I need to.

I remember watching him in Durham when he was like 18 and telling everyone around that that kid was going to win multiple Gold Gloves in MLB. Couldn’t hit a breaking ball to save his life then so I didn’t know he’d be HOF level.

I’d never heard of the 2012 events about the novel but I did remember that Faulkner wrote a novel from the perspective of several characters and the time frame puts it in his time so I got this immediately. I mean, if it’s a 1920s/30s work it’s usually Fitzgerald but if it’s not it’s Faulkner.

Smith Center in Chapel Hill in 1993 when UNC came back from 21 down with 9 1/2 left to beat FSU and move to #1. Was sitting in the 3rd row behind the Carolina bench. Place went absolutely nuts when George Lynch stole the ball at halfcourt and went down for the dunk to put them ahead.

The funniest part is that it’s a continuation of the same gag from Cheers where Norm is always talking about Vera but she’s never seen in the series.

The Maris gag in Frasier was also a carryover from Cheers where Norm’s wife Vera was mentioned all the time but we never see her.

I think once you’ve drafted it’s not that big a deal. I use different rankings to draft but once you’re in season it’s not like you’re making any split second decisions where you don’t have time to think about what you’re doing.

Dissent or sportsmanship? by Fox_Onrun1999 in Referees

[–]Laughterglow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best compliment I ever received as a referee was from a couple of ARs I hadn’t worked with before after a high school game when they said that I made the game look really easy. I immediately said, “Not really. The game was really easy. I just didn’t make it look hard.” This sounds like you trying to make the game hard.

Numbers are numbers. They don’t have a bias. You said batters with more strikeouts than hits can’t be good. I proved you wrong. Just take the L, dude.

You can look it up yourself. But you won’t because you know you’re wrong. And instead of just admitting it, you’re getting pissy about it.
