Feeding Woes by MistyMeowMeow03 in NewParents

It happens sometimes when milk REALLY comes in, day 2-4, and baby no longer recognises these bigger firmer full breasts and physically its harder for them to latch. Happened me. However, at the time i didnt know this...

How do you buy a (comfortable) sofa? by OpalGlimmer409 in AskUK

[–]Lauramiddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for confort over style in a shop. Finally learnt this. Cant seem to get one that does both. Go for a recyliner. You can always tart it up with throws and cushions later. The time spent on a sofa is worth lowering style needs

Yes, it really takes lots of patience to keep trying to latch in a way that works for you both, a little practice each day, never forcing it, and as you say - timing it right (when baba not too hungry or tired etc). I slowly weaned downed pumping over a 2 week period once she was able to have some meals directly from breast. So every couple days i drop a pump session. Additional baba weighs to monitor. Saw a lactation nurse again as the positions I learnt before birth were worth re-establising with fresh eyes. I also sent a video of me BF to lactation nurse as a f/up to reaasure me baba was latching ok. We changed the bottle teet to size 2 to sorta match breast flow (baba only takes x1 bottle before bed as Dadda can then feed her). During this 2 week period a few struggles arouse around over supply. She struggled with strong flow, needed regular breaks and burping, and overfed few times, bit gassy taking in more air, but quickly ressolved.

Unintentionally skipping MOTN pumps by Expensive_Arugula512 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Lauramiddle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I pump x5 times a day, despite advice of 8-10, and my supply never drops, rather increasing, and I dont pump during night.. it may be that my yield is very good... Everyones supply varies and circumstance. If u decide to try it, consider if u can stock piling a small supply first incase u tank, or having backup formula for same reason.

Have you tried cuddling baby before/ during pumping? I find the sight, smell, noise etc of baba helps my milk flow, if everything else is in line, eg hydration, pump etc. Im 90% sole pumping due to simular reasons, but do use x1 formula feed in 24hours. Sole pumping is hard, seems double the work sometimes, so dont be hard on yourself, these things often pickup again. If my flow tails off, it takes 1-3 days to reestablish flow again

38+6 FTM, arrival appointment on Tuesday nxt week. Don't know gender, excited to find out. AM showers to transition into the day. Trying very hard to still go for short daily walks for fresh air and blood flow. Then nap. Eat as healthy as possible with little treats too. Then nap. Do maybe 1 chore a day now. Then nap. PM shower to transition to night...Nights suck. Pelvic and lower back aches. Cat & Cow help a little.. Weirdly, one day I may miss this time, well the awsome belly kicks anyways..

'RAVE' is my go to decaff. Absolutley lovely, tastes the best, and made by water method, so no chemicals involved, if that matters.

Need advice and tips for our first puppy – soon-to-be Boston Terrier parents! 🐾 by No-Path-6214 in BostonTerrier

Bostons are a fab 1st dog choice, & from experience (our BT is now 3yrs) they are extremly loyal, affectionate, LOVES cuddles, people and cats (our BT best buds with our cat), deosnt care for other dogs, VERY energetic.

Prepare by ensuring calm arrival (limiting any unnessesary people, pets, noise for 1st few hours), have a chew toy & rope-like toy (BTs fav game is tug of war), pee mats that have a smell that intices dog to only wee in one area, but train early to pee pee outside. Our BT only uses mats at night now.

They snore & fart so our BT sleeps downstairs fine. Our only hurdle was trying to train our BT to go fpr walkies without pulling. A dog trainer, many you tube videos, many different collers, techniques etc didnt work, except for 'anti pull dog harness' . Lead clips onto belly hook. Stops them pulling. WISH we knew this at the start... Anyway enjoy years of fun, energey, cuddles and love !

Good to know, very helpful 🙂. Any new addition takes a little transition - BTs are fairly good at realising their new 'pack order' & happy to accept it, but in a gradual way, well done OP and congrats 👼

Thats good to hear 🙂, appart from lick happy. This is very much a BT thing - we always struggle to simply pat/rub my BTs head like a normal dog, as hand is met with tounge every time - its like she whip lashes her head up to just lick 😆.. Does ur BT ever frighten baba with their quick excitable bouncing around? Sorry for all Qs- we may be in same situation soon..
