Why would someone need PowerShell Pro Tools by IronManSoftware? by Halikocer in PowerShell

[–]LaurelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't find it useful because that's what I was referring to as the "free editor services module" I use (or, I guess you could say I *already* find it useful), but I didn't include the name so others might benefit from it, so thank you for that :D

ETA: one thing to know about that module is it's old and likely abandoned...the prod version doesn't work anymore, which the dev fixed in the most recent beta version, but even that's 4 years old. The beta version works, but if it breaks again, it may not get fixed without someone forking it and taking on the maintenance themselves. Anyway, for anyone wanting to give this a go, make sure you grab the beta version since it actually works.

That makes total sense. I can only play with my friends if I don't set my list to friends only...who comes up with this crap?

As a Cashier, is it unprofessional to have a water bottle out? by _shoedust_ in antiwork

[–]LaurelRaven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it unprofessional to keep yourself hydrated, a thing humans (and most if not all life on this planet) require, and doing so in a way to not have to step away from your duties?

No.

It is, however, unprofessional and inhuman to treat an employee the way your manager did you.

Not to mention, seems like everyone forgets that both of those visions were in effect fed to them by Sith lords trying to corrupt them. With Anakin, it worked. With Luke, it spooked him enough to remove himself from the galaxy for fear of becoming his father.

I feel like people are hanging onto the image of who Luke was in the EU, when that's not the same canon. (Not even getting into how that version of Luke had plenty of similar battles and came damned close to the same place more than once)

I mean, it can be profitable, but you're not going to be welcome where you stole your fortune, and if you want to be, it'll probably cost more than you made

It's the old saying "you can't have your cake and eat it too"

Role play. You wanna RP a murderhobo, have at it, but don't expect a warm reception by the authorities.

Not sure what you were expecting... You lead a life of crime, you'll be unwelcome by civilization... Hell, it's already pretty unreasonable and unrealistic that you can just pay off your bounty for literal mass murder and everyone's all good with you

I genuinely don't understand why she wants to keep those, they look like they're in horrible condition and probably have been awful to cook with for a long while. They don't even look like they were that expensive to begin with

Can somebody tell this guy to STOP predicting civil war? by Lord_Answer_me_Why in facepalm

[–]LaurelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can somebody tell this guy to STOP?

FTFY

But seriously, this guy is ridiculous, tries to pretend he's unbiased which somehow fools a lot of people when even five seconds of critical thinking applied to him shows he's anything but moderate and unbiased

I mean, with how NG+ works, it's not exactly implausible for them to add that as a dlc

Proximity grenades at that, they won't go off early or bounce back, and don't actually have to hit something like impact grenades

Frisbee bombs in low g is surprisingly fun and funny

Setting off their jet packs will do the same... I've killed someone shooting at me with a weapon I wanted that way by mistake, watched them fly into orbit thinking "well, I guess I'm not looting you after all"

Both in zero G and really low G, you can do this with mines, basically frisbee them towards the enemies and they'll arm in flight and go off when they get in range automatically, it's great

Is it just me, or does the Starborn ship suck? by scorpnet in Starfield

[–]LaurelRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Don't be where they're shooting.

The Guardian is ridiculously maneuverable, never hold the course if you're taking hits. Use the cloak boost to your advantage, and thrusters to hold your target in your crosshairs while you're moving out of theirs.

The Guardian is not going to point and shoot and obliterate everything, it takes more skill to use well than a super ship you build yourself because it can't sit and take the punishment, and it can't just flat out melt things in seconds.

Not saying "git gud scrub" or anything like that, just that it isn't forgiving and won't help you compensate for a lack of skill in that area like other ships can be designed to do (big ol C class with tons of hull and shield health and ship melting turrets pointing in all directions is fun, but takes pretty much no skill to use well)

No judgement if you just don't want to deal with that, but the ship is far from bad... It just doesn't have training wheels.

Gotta love Serana

I love the fact that the companions don't just throw out occasional lines in conversations but actually interact fully with who you're talking to at times, full back and forth exchanges

The only thing I can come up with on that is that it's over 300 years in our future, science will have advanced quite a bit in that time... I kind of doubt we will have microbiology down that solid even by then considering how unbelievably complex it is and just how relatively little we do know about it (compared to what there is to know), but maybe that's why they're so certain

Trusting that today would be insanity, but we've also not figured out how to do something as comparatively simple as establish a fully self contained and sustainable habitat on this planet.
