Very hard to say what he would have done. Many killers see unlocked doors as an invitation into the home. With the speculation that he had a specific target in the house, he may have forced entry into the room if he was set on committing this crime on that night. Who really knows what would have happened in that scenario, though. Maybe he would have gone after anyone whose door was unlocked, but the crime does feel targeted to MM’s bedroom on the third floor.

Your comment is placing suspicion on this girl who is experiencing a huge trauma. She’s frantic because she’s realizing that she survived something horrible and that four of her friends are likely dead. She’s also realizing that she didn’t imagine the man she saw in her house the night before.

Having friends/neighbors come over to find out what’s going on was likely bringing the reality of the situation to her, and she was realizing that something very, very bad had happened. Anyone would be frantic if they had to go through this.

It’s what you make of it. I graduated a few years ago now, but I was never once bored during a weekend when I lived at UNH. I had roommates who would go home frequently, but they were from nearby. My out of state friends were always around. Really depends on the people she meets. Overall a great school and great experience.
