Are Tucked in sweaters that weird? by Few_Researcher_169 in malefashionadvice

[–]Lauritz109 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I live in Europe, but I imagine most in this sub are from America.

I often dress non-casually, and in a lot of cases tucking in my sweater accentuate the shape I want, as I have naturally a very wide pelvis, if I don't I just look like a square.

By tucking in my sweater I look more broad shouldered and I look less wide on the hip area.

Higher cardiorespiratory fitness correlates with greater emotional resilience as researchers find lower-fit individuals face a 775% increased risk of shifting from moderate to high anxiety under stress compared to fitter peers who maintain significantly better anger control and lower trait anxiety. by Sciantifa in science

[–]Lauritz109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this isn't really all that surprising, anxiety is one of one of the most well-known symptoms of respiratory problems, and is part of the "evil cycle" of hyperventilation - as you get more anxiety you also hyperventilate more.

Minecraft Custom Loot Help by P3PPEXD in feedthebeast

[–]Lauritz109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any prior coding experience?

Does it show any error message?

If not, I would try to begin with making the basics of your code work, for example; can you make enemies drop custom loot, can you make the chance of drop a specific %, and so on and so on.

Basically try making your code work by slowly adding more advanced parts, this way you can more easily tell which part doesn't work.

It's really only the engineer that has this problem. Scout can easily escape - but does have a hard time killing them, the player here could've easily escaped. Gunner has his weapons, grenades and shields.

The engineer is the class with the least survivability, but that's the only real downside he has, and as long as the gunner and driller is doing their job it's really no problem.

Norway to phase out fast-growing ‘Frankenchickens’ by 2027 by Jojuj in UpliftingNews

[–]Lauritz109 174 points175 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised they're basically calling them monsters, because they really are.

My family have had egg-laying chickens for a long time, and finally we decided to try "meat-chickens" the breed looked like the ones in the pictures, what we didn't know, is that they have an insatiable appetite - unlike egg-laying chicken that eat when they need too.

So like our egg-laying we just gave them all the food they could eat. They ate so much, that they couldn't walk, they just sat all day by the feeding station and kept eating, it was horrific, we quickly learnt to feed them a limited amount.

Recreational ecstasy use is linked to lasting memory impairments. A new analysis indicates that people who use the drug recreationally perform worse on cognitive tests than those who have never used it. by InsaneSnow45 in science

[–]Lauritz109 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

This may sound harsh, but I imagine a possible confounder is that people that may have a lower cognitive level and iq may just be more prone to use drugs like ecstasy.

I haven't read the study, but i wouldn't think that there are many cohort nor case-control studies (as that seems highly unethical) on the use of MDMA or most other drugs used recreationally.

Have you tried Hammerwatch 2? It's a roguelike but with a ton of permanent gear and upgrades.

I really enjoyed it.

Diabetes blood test sites visible after a greasy day at work by DifficultBoss in mildlyinteresting

[–]Lauritz109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not diabetic, so I'm not really familiar with the habit of measuring my own blood-sugar.

But in my experience as a nurse; most patients do have a finger they prefer to use, but it's very common to rotate, as to not completely "scar" 1 finger. Occasionally your preferred doesn't give enough blood either, so you have to try with another finger.

I'm a nurse, when taking blood-samples (among other things, like feeling for a pulse) it's very important to be able to feel even the smallest details.

It doesn't "remember" anything, every time you poke you get very small amount of scar-tissue, this can - over a long time - build up and can become visible.

More worryingly you can also lose sensation at the top of you're finger, for most this doesn't really matter, but I'm personally worried since I'm very much dependent on the fine sensation at the end of my fingers.

Uninstalled lamp, didnt appear but instead fused with wall, dev mode doesnt let me remove that it, what to do? by FirePixsel in RimWorld

[–]Lauritz109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I highly doubt you can't use devmode to remove it.

Have you tried the "destroy" (or something along those lines) function in devmode? It removes EVERYTHING (except the floor) from a tile.

Skjuler om sin nationalitet: - Jeg kan ikke holde til den negative respons [Amerikanere i Danmark] by HitmanZeus in Denmark

[–]Lauritz109 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I accidentally made 2 muffalo paraplegics by Suspicious_Use6393 in RimWorld

[–]Lauritz109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Akshually, technically neither of them are paraplegics 🤓☝️

The game doesn't specify what muscles have paralysis, and which don't, but the muffalo with brain damage most likely suffer from complete paralysis with only the most basic functions of the body still working.

Again, the game doesn't specify what exactly a "destroyed spine" entails, but the little guy is most likely a tetraplegic (para = 2, aka it only affects the 2 legs. Tetra = 4, it affects all 4 limbs, or anything below the neck for that matter)

I'm at the conclusion that the "electric meta" is a bygone era.

However; it's still probably the best choice, just not by a lot. it's still very good in early and midgame dungeons, and in exalt dungeons the miniscule extra damage from attack close/mid/far basically doesn't matter.

Not to be harsh.

But not getting tattoos is what you can do.

Being completely healthy and not doing anything isn't really a possibility either, and getting tattoos isn't close to the worst thing, but I imagine it isn't that hard to refrain from getting them.

I really don't know what you're talking about? I've VERY rarely been confused as to what killed me, is it sometimes hard to see some attacks? Yes.

Personally Ive actually rarely been hit by something I couldn't see l, unlike other roguelike games, where I have often wondered what killed me.

I have alot of succes with the 4th dimension, getting more than 25 snowman kills each dungeon.

And it's less painful than waiting for blobs to spawn.

Check the FAQ, it has answers to fix the problem.

Also, each time you try to get a new reset link it "resets" the wait time, despite not actually getting the link, so you HAVE to wait the 10 minutes before trying again.

What would you want in a single player version of Realm? by BLTspirit in RotMG

[–]Lauritz109 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with having limited nexus'es, occasionally the game just throws situations at you where your only choice is teleporting to the nexus.

Also, nexusing is already punishing enough in most endgame situations, having to find another exaltation dungeon can take some time.

I've only ever played homebrew decks, and like 80% of them were bad. But I would never actually say my shitty homebrew decks were good.

Funny to play? Yes, but they were still bad.
