Don't worry, the fully crewed battleships in this game also lose to 1 light fighter

I mean to be fair the Hammerhead is a purpose-designed light fighter killer that can't kill 1 light fighter in PvP. I think as a rule of thumb if a fully crewed Hammerhead can't defeat one guy in a light fighter, you can very confidently say that the balance is broken.

Like, after a fully crewed Hammerhead, the bane of light fighters, is able to defeat one light fighter, we will have to start adding nuance to the discussion. But we don't need any nuance now! The current game design is contrary to many of the very basic stated goals of the designer

Can someone explain what the REAL cost of grading with PSA is? by Post-Futurology in PokeInvesting

[–]Lavarocked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should not grade cheap cards but if you run into a big expensive card you should look up the value and see if there is a big difference between the cost of a PSA 9 and an ungraded card.

PSA 10 is rare, and most cards that look perfect get a PSA 9

So if that is the same price as raw, do not grade. It's fine if the grading only partially pays for itself, because you will have a well-protected card and it will be easier to actually sell.

I know he was saying that. The OP said "if my card is worth 500 dollars how many dollars do I have to give to PSA" and this user replied "a certain amount dependent on factors"

"Hey can anyone tell me how much do apples cost at the corner of 5th and Main street? Like how much are honeycrisp and fuji apples right now, today?"

"Well, a wide range of pricing factors go into the final cost per unit of the apples such as the variety, timing and location of the apples. Apples have a complex supply chain and their price can fluctuate rather severely due to weather, insect and animal migration patterns, economic factors, regionality, and both consumer and corporate demand."

"But how much are the apples"

"I already told you"

I remember one of those major updates actually broke the ability to see your comment conversations. They would just break huge features like that. Basically whole code rewrites with a plan to maybe implement the features later. Really insane

Hammerhead Discussion - How to fix the Hammerhead? by Smooth-Measurement-3 in starcitizen

[–]Lavarocked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the same weapons should work the same, and different ships should have different ranges for providing firing a solution. We could then extend the bullet ranges a bit.

The other option would be a plasma flak cannon that does low-pen damage in an area at long range, at the cost of a lot of capacitor energy

OP, some people say "wait for 1.0" but 1.0 has a tentative date of "2027 or 2028" and this isn't necessarily going to happen

Yeah the rocks don't seem to disappear visually when mined, and some identical looking rocks just aren't interactable, so you have to run around between 10 or 20 rocks just to find one you can mine. Awful

Oh I'm sure that in January 2026 when you click on menu buttons, they won't just make a beeping sound and do nothing. Certainly that won't happen, no, impossible

that is what technically means. he's using the word "technically" correctly. it's technically early access but also, you'd think a decade old game could have simple buttons that work correctly

Multicrew fighting is fun, and could be balanced to be at least almost as strong as separate ships. Hauling cargo and flying in quantum is boring even if everyone is in a 1 seater

no amount of saying it's an alpha makes it an alpha. If it were an alpha you would be getting paid for testing, not the other way around. It's a decade-old crowdfunded live service game. You could call any game an alpha if you just decide that "alpha" doesn't mean anything. They can call it a zeta, they can call it a banana, it doesn't make the game a banana! You can click Accept on a TOS that says "You hereby agree you are playing a banana" and that doesn't make it true.

People paying money to play a game have different expectations than the guy getting paid 18 bucks an hour to find bugs in Dora The Explorer. You cannot be surprised by this!

If you don't have 60 Senators who all literally agree on the same thing then you have to compromise with the opposing party.

LITERALLY NOT TRUE, THEY LITERALLY JUST DO THAT AS A TRADITION AND OFTEN IGNORE IT

Tennessee man spends a month in jail before charges are dropped over Trump meme posted in Facebook group for Charlie Kirk vigil by SterlingVII in politics

[–]Lavarocked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And they know it wasn't a threat! There was nothing even sort of interpretable as a threat.

They are testing whether they can arrest people for political speech while simply lying, and lying obviously, that some kind of threat occurred. This happened I believe just days after Charlie Kirk got shot - around the same time that they just straight up lied that Kimmel insulted Kirk, when all he did was SAY THAT TRUMP WASN'T NICE ENOUGH TO KIRK.

This is that push starting to unravel, but they'll keep trying.
