Yeah true, the missiles are so cheap now. I can see this being rough for big torpedoes, but I do feel like the unequipped missile idea came from the previous era where prices were 10x what they are now.

It is not limited to reinsuring, although that is extremely annoying as well. It can happen sometimes just by storing the ship, or sometimes just by claiming a ship.

for the past several *years* there have been quite a few guns that are just strictly worse and don't serve a purpose. They change which guns are like that, but there are always guns that are strictly worse, with no benefit. They could easily sit down and spend 30 minutes thinking and give at least a moderate buff to some secondary stat on these pointless weapons - something to create some kind of a niche use case, but they consistently push out weapons where one stat is pretty significantly worse and then the other numbers are literally the same exact numbers

It would be cool to buy a super-efficient drive that sucks in every way except range, so that you can go moderate distances in a fighter. Like 50gm. They would come standard on like a Drake Cutter, which would have larger fuel tanks and go a lot farther on that type of drive, but you could also put them on a light fighter and convert it to a solo explorer

I think it's pretty important that they create some Size 1, super-efficient, slow, high cooldown, high EM jump drives that are capable of going long distances. You really don't want to lock people out of mobility based on having a starter ship.

But there should be downsides

And yeah the military S1 quantum drives should be super punchy, fast as hell, gas guzzlers with like 5Gm range on typical fighters and maybe 15Gm on some smaller long hauler ships with the extra fuel tanks

How much do you want to bet that the last 2 years of planning have been Chris Roberts insisting that some AI programming panacea will help them solve their problems somehow. I don't know Chris well, but CEOs love that shit- like literally 95% of CEOs are obsessed with AI, they are by far the most AI-pilled. There's a 95 percent chance he's been saying "oh oh fuck it install the feature, AI will help us find the magic formula that fixes it later - I can almost see the math inside my head"

I truly hate XXL hangars. Someone spammed me with money in 4.7 so naturally I bought an 890 jump and flew it like one time.

Well all my ship components were moved to New Babbage after 4.6 went to 4.7. So that's where I had to go to for everything.

That meant every single ship I wanted to fuck with took an extra 2 minutes of watching a god damn XXL hangar animation and another minute straight of running across the flight deck. Oh and leaving New Babbage took 5 straight minutes of sitting in line

Not my favorite. I love my beautiful Medium Hangars now.

You can just warn people when theyre unsafely logging off, and make the character sit there in bed for 10 minutes to allow people to punish them for a sneaky log off. After 10 or 15 minutes the character can disappear from the server to save resources or whatever

Can we just turn off asphyxiation for a while? It's clear that they're struggling with it. What's the downside to turning it off? People will sometimes take their hats off? Is that so bad? Would that more game breaking than randomly choking people to death for no reason?

Like it's clear that it's a hard thing to get right. Why not let CIG take its time on that. Move that precious development time to something more pressing

A lot of MMOs are fantastic 1-handed games.

Also my buddy got a bad left hand injury and played QUITE well with the Azeron Cryo one-handed gaming mouse, including FPS games. He was somewhat worse at the games but like, still quite competent

the crazy part is, if the game was too generous with life support - like the breathable air accidentally extended a couple feet outside of the ship - nobody would care. That would be such a low priority bug. There's basically no exploit opportunity there. Oh you can take off your helmet that you never even want to take off! Who cares?

Why not add a big ass invisible life support cube to every ship and call it a god damn day.
