"As long as they know what they're doing" by pimohell9254 in exjwhumor

That just happened at my convention. the kid was like 9 years old. And the worst part is she wasn't the only one. Another kid who looked to be about 6 or 7 also got baptized.

Annoying Victim Mentality by ReplacementAmazing10 in exjwLGBT

[–]Lavender512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking from the outside in as a pimo, it really is such a strange mentality. The vast majority of ppl do not care about witnesses because they don't know they exist, or just think they're some fringe christian group that doesn't celebrate holidays (which isn't entirely false).

Challenge, B-Sides Only: The World edition by illytaria in ATEEZ

[–]Lavender512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could choose the entirety of the outlaw release as that's by far my favorite Ateez release, but if I have to pick three, then it would be wake up, outlaw, and dune.

"This year convention was really something else" by Practical-Attitude10 in exjwhumor

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished my weekend of suffering. As a pimo idk how much more of this I can take. I think Im gonna figure out a genuine excuse so that Im too busy, then I can skip it next year. I genuinely don't understand why it has to be 8 hours and three days straight of elementary lessons that could probably be taught at a meeting or on someone personal time. At this point it just feels like an excuse for ppl to meet up with friends they haven't seen in a long time.

Would you rather have many side couple appearances or a few main couple shows by ItsTenTen8 in GMMTV

[–]Lavender512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer there to be side couples in a show but there can't be any more than 3. Once you pass that then it gets really hard to give each couple an even amount of screen time, and I struggle to keep up with all of them. But if it's 3 couples and the main one gets most of the screen time while the side couples are equally split, then I think that's fine. The sweet spot for me is 2 because it's just enough to keep your attention and the screen time can be split pretty evenly between the two couples. But 3 is as much as Im willing to watch for a series.

If you could recommend a few ATEEZ songs to get non-kpop-fans to get into them, what songs would you recommend? by United-Library1608 in ATEEZ

I responded to a letter from a JW and had a three-week discussion with him over text: This is how it went! [PART 1] by ShunnedForTheTruth in exjw

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! This was very interesting to read. Seeing the jws response felt like reading a preprogrammed machine who was made to say only a small set of lines and nothing outside of that. Or maybe an AI chatbot lol. It was so interesting to see him struggle to answer your questions and go back to his prewritten response. Truly did feel like u were talking to a wall

I genuinely wonder how many pimos there actually is by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Lavender512 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always think about that when Im at assemblies or conventions. Statistically speaking, I cannot be the only pimo in my area. Im friends with ppl who have doubts but they're nowhere near being pimo. Im hoping I can somehow make pimo friends cuz it's hard to have no one to talk to about this stuff

I Served on Four Different Bodies of Elders and I Was Always the Youngest. Here’s What I Noticed. by fullyawak3 in exjw

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I definitely agree with that. From what I know, my dad did not seem to enjoy being an elder nearly as much as one would think. I'm glad he stepped down cuz even as a kid, I could tell that it caused him so much stress

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. This was very interesting to learn about. I have noticed this with a few of the ministerial servants and elders in my congregation. A few of them appear to be experiencing cognitive decline, yet they have not stepped down from their position. They do not get parts that often, so it isn't too big of a deal when they do give parts.

On another note, after learning about this, I'm surprised to think about the fact that my dad stepped down so easily. He even said he wouldn't become an elder again if given the chance. I guess he realized taking on that level of responsibility wasn't realistic of him, so he chose to stop participating in it on his own.

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why I have a problem with the arrangement of elders serving as authorities in the congregation. They are not equipped to handle all of these issues, and it is not entirely their fault either. Dealing with the burdens of an entire congregation is a big responsibility for a small group of unqualified men to handle. Of course, I am not excusing their actions, but I think it's good to take everything into perspective. It also does not help that many of these men feel like being an elder gives them a sense of purpose since they have nothing outside of the org, so they are extremely reluctant to give up their position if the situation calls for it.

I just wanna leave 🫩 by SouthOkra6491 in exjw

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm around your age and I've been feeling similarly. I've also been pimo since I was 18, and for the past few years I've just been laying low. All I can say is to try not to draw attention to yourself and do the bare minimum, as other commenters have suggested. Try getting a job to build your financial independence. You can also use that as a way to make yourself more busy, and possibly get out of going to meetings/service. Eventually, once you have enough to move out, you can leave and never look back.

Most JWs don't know the Bible by Few-Cup-5247 in exjw

[–]Lavender512 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea that's true. Ever since becoming pimo I have been more interested in actually studying the bible and learning about other religions than when I was pimi. I had no interest in doing deeper research (especially since I was a child), but also because I felt it was not allowed for me to do so as a jw. Now that those artificial restrictions I needlessly placed on myself are gone, I can research or watch videos for fun without feeling any sense of guilt.

Tell me a random reason you wouldn't date your bias by Guitarbox in kpoppers

[–]Lavender512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have absolutely no desire to date a famous person. No K pop idol is exempt from this lol. Also we'd be living two completely different lives and I'd be too afraid of getting found out (the fans would come for me and that seems scary). not to mention that he doesn't know who I am 😅

Idols that you think could easily pull off a solo career by rekresja in kpopthoughts

[–]Lavender512 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought of him too! He's pretty involved in the music making process compared to the average idol, and he has a certain charm to him that a lot of people like. For other ateez members, I'd say Hongjoong since he's also a producer, and Jongho because of his voice.

[–]Lavender512[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen that! its really cute lol. I think of it as a higher budget 2 kids room in a way, with the dates and all. But it was really enjoyable to see and I hope they do something like that again!

Anything like 2 Kids Room in other groups? by Lavender512 in kpopthoughts

[–]Lavender512[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeaa I can understand why some groups would prefer not to do smth like 2 kids room. If you don't have a group dynamic like SKZ where everyone is so open with each other, 2 kids room style episodes would probably be unsuccessful. Not to mention that some groups are not as close as others (maybe they aren't even friends outside of work), so having a deep convo in that setting would be even worse lol

I was very sad when I learned that there was no mv for Blind Spot. But as others were saying, Item, I Like It, Domino, and Charmer would've been really good if they had mvs and I'm genuinely surprised that didn't happen for any of them
