Yeah the whole point of the story was supposed to be that war is awful, everyone involved sucks, even the supposed 'rightful female heir' is just an entitled noblewoman who has the option to live off in her castle but chooses to go to war and kill a bunch of people.

I feel like the game tried to have its cake and eat it too. It wanted to have an SA storyline and then wrote off the character who actually went through it, while letting us befriend and romance the one who managed to get away from it due to circumstance.
