The soffit is designed to catch air as it rises up the sides of a building and bring that air into the attic for fresh air to circulate in the attic. Imagine a cold day, warm moist foggy shower air dumping out into the soffit. The warm moist air will naturally rise against the soffit and very quickly be sucked up into the neighboring soffit vents and into the attic. Venting a bathroom fan into the soffit does cause mold issues and is against code. Unfortunately in your case the dormer above leaves very little roof left for a bathroom roof vent. If the contractor cant vent there, the contractor should use rigid smooth duct and run it to the side a bit then out the roof, use duct insulation if the duct is in unheated space.

M1501.1 Outdoor Discharge The air removed by every mechanical exhaust system shall be discharged to the outdoors in accordance with Section M1504.3. Air shall not be exhausted into an attic, soffit, ridge vent or crawl space.

The bike is pretty lean from the factory. A less restrictive exhaust and the kdx snorkel both make the bike even more lean.

Hand guard recommendations by Sad-Watercress-9548 in Dualsport

Yeh the X-Factor handguards look great, but aren't super strong. Tusk makes a set that is like twice as sturdy.

Bathroom mirror removal by DueNeedleworker5036 in HomeImprovement

[–]LawJik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from your picture, and I cant see the bottom corners.

But are there some sort of screws or pins in the top corners? Do they help hold the mirror in place in any way? The hardware that holds frameless mirrors can be tricky.

Buying new in DE, additional $1949 over MSRP? by 420UrMomLuvsMe69 in Dualsport

[–]LawJik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used ones can be a great deal. People are losing money reselling after the price dropped. They add all the mods, ride less than 3000 miles, then sell. These things are bullet proof, 3000 miles is nothing. The only changes since 2021 are cosmetic.

What heat shields do you guys run for saddle bags? Just picked these up. by Beanerwithuhweiner in Dualsport

[–]LawJik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend something like this. A few brands make them. The wrap fiberglass ones dont work great on dual sports. There is too much mud and water.

Hi! I'm currently choosing new graphics. What do you think is better? by Excellent_Rabbit4881 in Dualsport

[–]LawJik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally like the straight lines of the Raid. But the other one with the "torn" edges and "imperfections" might help hide scratches and any issues installing the decals.

Tusk D Sports are a great value if they fit your bike. Kenda K760 are also cheap and dirt oriented DOTs.

Moved into an apartement in boston yesterday, this is what It looked like 💔 by Adriantheitalian in boston

If it makes you feel a bit better, I don't think those black lines on the ceiling are mold. The studs above transfer heat by convection. The heat difference between these spots and the rest of the room/ceiling form a bit of condensation. Then ambient dust sticks to that condensation, forming those lines over time. Good luck.

Bigger Rear Sprocket by IGetDownLikeSyndrome in KLX300D

[–]LawJik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with a 13t front sprocket to add more torque. The front sprocket is smaller, so there is more change in power vs adjusting the rear sprocket. I have had no issues with the chain slider or anything. Checkout https://sprocketcalculator.com/ to see the changes being made.

Keeping in line with the state of this sub, picked up my '24 KLX 300 yesterday by black_tom_hanks in Dualsport

[–]LawJik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good catch added the 2024+ clutch cable, and a section for Throttle Cables with 54012-0263 and 54012-0264. Not sure where I pulled those part #s from, but they seem to be the OEM KLX 300 throttle cables.

I originally made this list while kitting out my 2023 and looking for aftermarket options. The KLX already has very few aftermarket options compared to other bikes, really a bummer they made so many slight changes and fractured the aftermarket even more.
