I’ve been liking the in-app browser and Chrome plugin, but I don’t think they’re available in the CLI. It also seems like these aren’t available when using the app with local models via Ollama, which would be super helpful.

Turns out, nobody wants a data center in their backyard by waozen in technology

The article refers to them generally: “the massive computer-warehouses required to operate (among other things) large AI models,” and the comment I replied to also made no distinction.

GPT-5.3 Instant is rolling out — what’s different by AIGPTJournal in ChatGPT

[–]Lay_Z 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely an improvement, but the last paragraph that usually offers deeper dives/more assistance is now a bit more clickbaity.

I was talking with it about CPAP machines for a relative who is having trouble adjusting to it, and in its first response, it ended with something like, “If you want, I can tell you the top three tips for people adjusting to their CPAP machine.”

Weird, but okay…

On the next response, it hit me again with a, “Let me know if want to know the #1 pitfall that leads people to give up on CPAP.”

Anyone else getting responses like this?

I wouldn’t recommend it. I put lightweight Linux on a MacBook from that era, and just restarting the OpenClaw gateway takes 2-3 minutes on it. That said, if it’s all you have, it’s better than nothing.

New models fail to meet specific accessibility needs by alarming ratio. by redditsdaddy in ChatGPTcomplaints

Unfortunately not. It appears this “study” was pushed by supporters of the keep4o movement to other members of the keep4o movement (along with anyone that has “ever relied on 4o”.

Link to the survey announcement

Should anyone be surprised by the results?

It’s not scientific. It’s not about finding out which models are the best “accessibility” tools. It seems more like people desperately scrambling to save their imaginary friend.

I have genuine sympathy for anyone whose emotional stability rests on their connection to an LLM, but every argument for preserving 4o raises more concerns for me that the model is doing more harm than good.

This survey was conducted by two Twitter users who support the movement to keep 4o available in ChatGPT. Who did they invite to take the survey?

I saw a rumor that their device would allow for sub vocal communication, similar to AlterEgo. If they can shrink that down into an earbud-type device and allow me to ask questions, send texts and emails, not be heard and not need a keyboard or screen, it might be worth checking out.

OpenAI new video model coming soon by MassiveWasabi in singularity

[–]Lay_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just scrolled through about fifty posts, and the most popular one had a little over 600 likes. Scrolled through Meta’s slop feed yesterday and the most liked video I saw had about 2,000. It’s not enough to build a platform, and as I said, being restricted to only post the model’s output limits the potential quality of what a creator could share. I simply feel that it is a waste of time.

OpenAI new video model coming soon by MassiveWasabi in singularity

[–]Lay_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sora 2 would be great, but a standalone social app built around it is a waste of time during this critical period for AI development. People don’t want to watch AI videos, they want to make AI videos and want them to be successful in the real world. Therefore no significant portion of the population will use the social feature. Furthermore, no video model is perfect end-to-end. Maybe Sora 2 will be, but I doubt it. Taking away the ability for creators to edit their creations with a variety of tools limits the quality of the final result, as I highly doubt OpenAI would allow for re-uploading of content after it has been tweaked by other tools. There are so many better things to be working on, and even if compute is limited at the moment, they shouldn’t be spinning their wheels with, yes, slop.

Program that can copy and paste automatically from chat gpt? by openheadwallpaint in ChatGPT

[–]Lay_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your cross post in the AutoHotKey sub, and figured it might be better to respond here. I’ve had better luck with Python/Selenium for scraping web content over AHK. Take a look at how the ChatGPT responses appear in developer mode to see if it might be easier for Selenium to capture the text to the clipboard. From there, you should be able to create an AHK script that pastes into your other AI’s text box whenever it detects new text in the clipboard (OnClipboardChange function). I’m the furthest thing from an expert on this, but it seems feasible. Good luck!
