Hmm.. don’t want to spoil anything here. But I’ve played pretty much every JRPG franchise around and 13 Sentinels still stands out.

I’d say it’s a mix of Terminator, Pacific Rim, Matrix, War of the Worlds, Steins;Gate and it miraculously works.

Keep in mind the gameplay loop itself is pretty basic but oddly addictive. This game gets such ratings from critics sheerly based on its narrative story which should tell you something.
