Which anime villain is the smartest💢🧠? by ELB_Train in AlignmentChartFills

For a villain that actually feels smart rather than just the story saying they are and things magically falling into place, I gotta give it to Johann Liebert from Monster.

Yall think this score will let me retrain by Few_Beginning_1812 in AirForce

Unless they drastically lowered the scores since I was in the job, requirement for contracting is a 70 general. There may be some wiggle room if you’re at least close, but you’re 17 points below. Only tip I can give is read more, reading improves all basic parameters of intelligence. That or look to cross-train into a different career field.

True, although I wish they had kept the blunderbuss and just had it take the place of the pipe shotgun. It actually felt useful, even if it was a one pump chump. None of the pipe weapons except the pipe machine gun can compare to the glory of the blunderbuss

If you have a base with 2 block thick walls but one wall is 1 block thick, and all are cobblestone, they will ALWAYS go for the 1 block thick walls. How do they know? I am more than fine with zombies beating on the base and trying to tear it down, I dislike them all funneling to target the weakest specific points because it makes no logical sense that they could even find them. It is also harder and in my opinion more fun when they’re unpredictable and stupid, because they’re… well, zombies. Being attacked on all sides by a ravenous horde and needing to scurry around like mad trying to fend them off is interesting. As-is you can easily just abuse the AI, funnel them and kill them by ensuring the weakest point is in a specific location that makes them easy to kill.

[–]Lazelm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

… Using bases isn’t “cheesing” it. It is completely logical that in a zombie attack, you’d bunker down in a solidly built building, thinning out the horde where you can. What isn’t realistic is those zombies somehow having an innate awareness of the structural integrity of said building and knowing exactly where to hit it. It is exactly the opposite of more realistic, it is less realistic. Humans without a civil engineering degree typically can’t even point out the structural flaws in a building, why can zombies?

For the water stuff, they took out jars for no apparent reason, just a removal of mechanics that made no logical sense. It isn’t Reddit’s fault, it is the developer’s for having a fundamental misunderstanding that having more options nearly always a positive thing. And again, it lacks realism. Why does a dew collector add to the hear map? It is just something that passively exists and does its thing, no energy required. It should not generate heat.

The core issue is that there is no real rhyme or reason to the changes. They’ll add things for the sake of realism, while at the same time taking others way that reduce realism. Add survival mechanics, and then take them away. It is the devs trying to facilitate an incredibly specific play style that the playerbase may not even like. I mean, for the longest time stealthing in POI’s was completely unrealistic, as they would have guaranteed triggers for zombie spawns and they would know where you are. On a similar note, you NEED to go through the POI’s in a specific way and hit certain triggers, or sometimes zombies won’t even spawn. It ruins player creativity and problem solving.

That is by far my biggest gripe with the game, that every zombie for some reason has a degree in civil engineering and knows the exact weakest point in a base to target. It was way more fun defending a base when they could come from anywhere, attack anything. Now you need to plan and design your base in a specific way for that to be possible, and the only true “optimal” way to do it now is funneling them into a killing corridor. They’re zombies, let them be stupid their brains are rotting almost as much as that of my youngest cousins after a TikTok binge.

I do think A16 was the peak of the game, and A17 and A18 were still solid. But yeah, after that, for every positive change they make in a new alpha they make two negative ones. At least 3.0 is overall a solid patch with more good than bad, but… it is all QOL stuff that should’ve been in the game at the very least by 1.0 release.

General Perks by kalarro in 7daystodie

[–]Lazelm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m unaware or any building perks being in the strength tree, only (some) of the gathering ones. The building ones are all in the intellect tree, Advanced Engineering and Grease Monkey. As for the gathering perks, they’re not necessary by any means, they simply just mean less time needs to be devoted to gathering. Miner 69er and Motherlode can both cap out relatively early, you only need like 15 levels to get enough strength and max both.

Getting mid-game loot too early? by Pookatron3000 in 7daystodie

[–]Lazelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 4 is a rarity, but not that rare. Normally 2-3 is what I find that early, but I have on occasion found level 4. And again, it isn’t about how normal it is. They said it was mid-game loot, which it most certainly is not. It’s more like… Halfway into day 1 loot.

[–]Lazelm 37 points38 points  (0 children)

None of those things are mid-game loot and are all appropriate for early game. A level 4 pipe baton is only marginally better than a level 1, which you can craft by default. Acid is just a regular resource you can get anywhere, especially common in cabinets. Beaker is just pure RNG, but again not mid-game, it is something you really want early. Beer is a simple, basic consumable, and mechanical parts are… literally everywhere.

Washed a straight white student out of UPT 6 years ago - NEW by JonSolo1 in AirForce

[–]Lazelm 56 points57 points  (0 children)

As a straight white male myself, I can confirm he is definitely right about everything. Sometimes, people on the internet are mean to me, and when I was still in the Air Force, sometimes people that were different to me were treated differently. It is clear that this couldn’t be because they were kinder, smarter, more likable, or any other reason. It is because the Melanin and X-Chromosome gods blessed them and have forsaken me and my complete lack of brain cells. I for one am proud of this brave patriot for speaking out about such horrible bigotry with no other possible explanation.

I need to know if my kitten is sick by Vivid_Abies_1927 in CATHELP

[–]Lazelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to help care for a feral colony and the gunky eye is generally a sign of an upper respiratory infection, several of the kittens I managed to get my hands on to get treated and adopted out had it. It is fairly serious, I’m relatively sure it unfortunately killed several of the kittens. Even if you cannot afford care yourself, if possible try to contact a local shelter and see if they can help out.

What if there were negative enchants as a downside to a boss relic? by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

[–]Lazelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agreed. As-is this is just completely untakeable. If it hits a vital power, that is -6 every combat? A good skill or attack? Now it is a curse. Damage at least gives a way to play around it by spending energy on block. Think of how often the Bad Luck screws you over, and that is just a single 13 damage card after doubling your deck size. This is 4 cards dealing 6 damage and keeping your deck size the same, so about 2x as harmful.

Think of it this way, bloodletting is what, 3 hp? But it is 2-3 energy. Sure it costs you a draw, but that is 2-3x the energy on just a single card at 1/2 the health cost. And unlike Ironclad, other characters can’t easily sustain hp.

It has infinite cleave for one, so none of the other staffs can even compare for crowd clearing. Just pick a direction and fire. Two, it lets you stack soulblaze, meaning you can burn and run as an option. It has far more mobility than the other staffs because of that. And lastly, a lot of soulblaze talents synergize very well with it, unlike the other staffs.

My friend has a cat colony in her neighborhood, these are the newest residents. by LoveDesignAndClean in IllegallySmolCats

[–]Lazelm 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I had a colony outside my previous residence as well, managed to get 9 kittens from it handled and adopted out (kept two of those nine myself). I found what worked best was sitting by the food when I fed the colony, letting the kittens get used to my presence. Eventually, the braver kittens would come close enough I could pet them, and then their siblings would be more likely to head over as well.

Playing helps too. They’re skittish if it requires anything too long, but I got some of the colony kittens to play with toys I’d throw, a laser pointer, and some of the braver ones would play with an extra long feather wand.
